This topic was inspired from the CGI created B-17 bomber.

Check these movies out! Done by Tochy from Japan:

"1945"

"1942"

"DB_Bros1" - See if you can name the three planes!

"Landing Hien"

http://www.angel.ne.jp/~tochy/etc/landinghien.mpg

"Stunt 1"

They are all a work of art! I just could imagine that this is how flight sims will look and feel like in about 5 years or even less!!!!

Enjoy!

The one that looks the most realisitc is that of the Ki-61 landing....that was nice.

Looks great but IL2 has their flight models and tracers beat already. Unfortunately the problem is that a game that looks that good requires such a huge investment in artwork that the overhead to create the game becomes too much for developers and publishers. I imagine eventually there will be graphic arts companies in the future that manufacture 3d objects you can import into your game engine for a fee to offset this expense of development. I could spend days just buzzing that village in the 1945 clip if a game was that realistic looking.

Those are great videos, but one thing about those dogfight ones. Worst.use.of.voice.ever. Hands down that was the worst implementation of voice I've ever been witness to.

WOW! Those are some awesome video clips. Whoever directed those shots has got some real talent. Excellent work.

yeah - i've downloaded the 1942 AND 1945 ones before - i might do the other two now..

the voices are strange in fact IIRC i couldn't even tell what the 1942 one was saying other than "it was in the high summer of 1942" i think!.. must be some kind of voice simulation program or something - perhaps as the guy couldn;t speak english? i don't know.

however the graphics etc.. are so good, that to let a moan about the voices marr it in anyway would just be silly /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Some good looking videos there /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Why is that P51 turning with a Zero though? Or did I get my planes mixed up?

might watch it again now actually..

just watched 1945 again..
pretty damn excellent actually -i just realised the guy (or his mate or something) must have composed all the music especially for it as well - talented guy if he did it all himself /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

I don't know if he is strafing the kid or just the building behind him. Either way he is the one who falls victim to the collision right?

They are just fantastic visuals.

It's only funny til someone loses an eye....then it's hilarious
