I know alot of people have been asking around here to be able to fly some missions on the new NW Germany map that apepared with 4.02m. So I've spent a little time and started building a few single missions for everyones enjoyment.

At the moment I have posted two missions for the map...the first is flying the new P-47D Late in a strafing run against the Reine airbase. The second mission is a night attack in a Me-262A-2 against an Allied controlled bridgehead.

Both missions and the fancy posters I did for them can be found here:

Look for Strikeout and Night Blitz. Enjoy and feel free to post feedback here and through the ratings system at Flying Legends. I intend to have the missions posted elsewhere later.

This map is a piece of art !

Ice, have you already seen those two-tracked roads that end in the middle of nowhere ?

One leads to a prison camp and another one leds to a place where some gas tanks and camo-nets are located.
I tried it out - and guess what:
the place perfectly fits for the "test runway No 4".

Maybe you could use this info for a future mission http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I have not yet found that but there are goodies scattered about the map. I have avoided those for my first couple of missions but I will be using this map extensively for a future Tempest campaign.

Sounds quite exciting http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Something like 2nd TAF vs. III./JG 54 ? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thats exactly it...

I'm plotting to use Pierre Closterman's The Big Show as a basis point and then build a somewhat elaborate campaign based on the whole 2nd TAF operations.

Its once again a semi-historical setup but definately grounded solidly in what actually happened. III./JG54 would definately factor into things quite heavily...

What may be neat is to produce a reverse campaign featuring that squadron as well. We'll see how elaborate my scheme goes http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Problem - the map is a summer map which means it would only work for a March - April 1945 campaign. By then III./JG 54 was already IV./JG 26 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Oh sometimes it's just good to be such a nitpicker http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

Yes that is a problem...I did ask Ian about a winter map but there was not enough time unfortunately. I guess its not as easy as flipping a switch and it just changes to winter...

It would definately be a March and April campaign and it is interesting that III/JG54 was then part of JG26. I didn't know that and I'll definately need to continue my research on the subject. While I know a fair amount of details about RAF 2nd TAF operations in the area...my resources on the Luftwaffe are significantly less at the moment.
