I think the Pacific Fighters quick preview at Gamespot is new.

Also there is a new "exclusive trailer", don't know if it is new or not though. May require quicktime and Gamespot DLX download account (which is free and no big deal).

Updated, looked at trailer, it is new to me anyway. Sweet footage of Spitifres unfolding wings on deck, British carrier (I think), nice footage of Hellcat flying, and a nice Japanese Zero tail-hook landing on Japanese carrier. Also quick shot of Zero float plane flying.

Also, lots of screenshots, there is one of Corasair D with loadout option selection screen, looks sweet. Also picture of Havok in-flight, and more.

Finally, in the quick preview he mentions the sound of your aircraft's frame creaking when in tight turns, is this new, known, or probably a mistake?

Nice!

Very historically correct. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
Nice job there gamespot. the only
2 shots that were worth a dam were the
arming screen and the map. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Notice there's nothing new on the arming screen.

Oops, forgot direct link. Before you are too hard on Gamespot they did have kind words for the game and if you notice it says that voices in video are currently Russian because the game is in development, and they mention that you can use any markings. I don't think they were trying to pass it off as finished or historical, I'm just grateful for any info I can get and it was cool to see Wildcat and Havoc models.

The video is also good and I think it uses historical markings http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

Still no answer on the airframe creaking thing?

F4U-1D in 1943 ?
just wondering , keeping in mind the P-51B is rated as 1942 in game

The F4U-1D available in 1943? Actually yes, it was....to the Vought test pilot. The first F4U-1D was accepted by the Navy on April 22, 1944. The -1D saw its first combat in the Marshall Islands during the summer of 1944.

Well, if they get those in 43, the Japanese could get the Ki-44I if such a plane was modeled, in 41. Oh sure, there were only 8, but they were in combat, in China. Anyway interesting preview I suppose, the Kyushu map isn't anything new. It seemed to me that the muzzle flashes were pretty big for the Rufe, in other videos the flashes were a lot less, I dunno.

They likely have recieved a few beta versions and thats why some of the flashes are big and some are small.

Looks pretty good. I just streamed the video, forget their proprietary downloader stuff.

What strikes me about the new maps is that they don't have alot of airfields. Very spartan in that respect.

How many airfields do you count on the Japan map? I make about 3 airfields, maybe four. One up at Omura, and 2 or 3 at the bottom. Could be Beta Map.

Did US NAVY or MARINES have Regiments? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

This must be QMB and not FMB...
