View Full Version : Collecting Questions to ask SH4 developers! [CLOSED]

So, some of you have been telling me that you don't care about goodies with your game. Instead all you want is to talk to the developers. Well, unfortunately it seems like they're still hidden in their super secret underground base living off of energy drinks and instant noodles, and don't have the time to visit the forums.

So instead of just leaving you guys hanging, I'm gonna try and collect all your questions, hunt them down and see if they will fess up!

So, post away any burning questions you have for the devs about Silent Hunter IV. I make no guarantees or promises on if they'll get answered, but if all goes as planned, I'll be delivering answers as time goes on. So start asking!

EDIT: Please be sure to make your post in the form of the question. Otherwise there may be less chance that the devs will hear from you.

Aircraft. Have the cut down on the number of aircraft attacking? The sub just gets swarmed in 1943 onwards. There should be 1 or 2 aircraft not 3 - 9 of them.

Thanks

How is the damage model? Will the ships and subs take viewable damage, and not just smudges and flying boxes?

Hull damage

Why not have someone do some decent hull damages and holes. Also with the Dud torpedoes early in the war it would be nice to have a few dents and even a hull breach without a detonation.

My recollection was that as many as three would hit a target and only one detonate. Sometimes you could see the holes where the torps would penetrate the hull on the vessel but no detonation.

The art would have to fit with damage and sinking rates.

Also the ability to start fires aboard using MG's and incindiary rounds. Especially on tankers. Also the use of specialized ammo such as White Phosphorous, smoke. Flare for commo red, blue, white, and green. This would require more active eye candy, ie oil drums that burn or explode, cargo that might detonate such as ammo. Hot spots on vehicles, planes fuel tanks.
Fuel needs to run and burn, oil needs to spread across water and burn.

Add more laters

-please, let the destroyers have a limited source of depthcharges, unlike SH3.

-Include historical battles

-and as edjcox mentioned, the fires are a must have, not just eyecandy as in SH3, but they should do damage to the boat.

Oh and by the way, a good initiative, it's good to have some input.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

My main interest would be that SH4 is a COMPLETE, totally beta-tested, bugfree simulation that won't need four or more patches to fix what should have been fixed BEFORE they put it on the market, and STILL have numerous bugs and glitches that take away the pleasure of playing the simulation in the first place.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

As some have said, please lets limit planes to 1 to 3. In real life there wasn't a swarm of fifty. Also lets limit the ammount of ammo on the hunters, and their ability. In the I.D. book, this time please add what types of weapons/ ammount of ammo carried by this ship. Allow an option to set a watch for a set number of hours I.E. 4/6/8 hour watches were they auto move. More to come. And as said, thank you for taking our comments, if you listen to those you can, i think the game will be much better.

Hey all, As i said here is some more things I thought of:

Weather forecasts, not just weather reports.

Control over the dive planes as you would the rudder.

The ability to pick your own load out of secondary weapons ammo. In SH 3 I only used the star shells to hit little fishing boats, thats all they were good for.

Equipment that works!!! In SH3 when you get to the type XXI and get the radar on the snorkel, as soon as you enter the game its destroyed. So on.

Again thanks for the op to express.

10 questions to ask the devs:

1. Are any of the existing SH4 preview screenshots and movies taken directly from the actual game, or are they enhanced/CGI?

2. Is SH4 being developed in such a way that it will be even more open to community modding than SH3 is?

3. After SH4 is released, is there any chance of a SDK being released for SH3?

4. Will there be a beta and/or a demo version of SH4 made available before release?

5. Will SH4 have significantly better explosions and flame effects than SH3? e.g. a glow in the sky at night and massive mushroom cloud explosions when a tanker goes up. An exploding target is often the result of many hours of hunting, careful interception and torpedo calculations. The reward should therefore be realistic and graphically spectacular.

6. What gameplay realism settings will SH4 have?

7. Are there any changes/improvements to the save game system? e.g. the ability to 'preserve' great moments that can be re-played without losing subsequent saves?

8. Will the game be significantly quicker to load than SH3 (which is very, very slow)?

9. Will SH4 include the same or better external camera controls? e.g. depth of field effects (distant objects are blurred) or different view-angles (such as wide angle)?

10. If the sub is critically damaged, will there be options to 'abandon ship', call for assistance and escape into life rafts? The demise of a sub should not necessarily mean the death of the commander/crew, or the end of a career!<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I agree with VKG, I dont want to just die, I would like to abandon ship and try again on another day.

Plus, I discoverd, recently, a truley HUGE ammount of sound files that were never actually used, like "we should follow the escort, sir!" and "We should pull up to the supply ship, sir!" and so on, If there are sound files on the install, I would really appreciate them being used, not just taking up space on my hard drive.

The death screen, will I be able to see my boat implode/explode, etc. instead of, "your dead! deal with it."?

Will people and debris fly through the air. for an explosion? With a nice glow and so on.

I would really like to interact with my crew beyond just periscope depth, and such, can ask like, how are you? how is your family? have you seen "Der Fuehrer's Face"? ect.

If a ship sinks like, by the bow, and the stern is WAY up in the air, will the ship do like Titanic? Like, will it break in have because of the structual stress?

If a ship rolls over, will there big a big splash as the superstucture cashes into the water?

If a Shell, torpedo, bullet, ect. hits my boat, will I see a hole there?

Will I see dents if a dud or whatever hits a ship, or my hull?

can I see my own legs?

Can I hear my person in game give orders? its kind of odd, I think, for them to just say yes sir, when it seems like you say nothing.

when the room I'm in starts flooding, will I see the water in the room?

If I get crew down on the deck, will he lie there and bleed and so on, or will he just poof down to the bunks?

Will there be AI subs??

will there be swimming fish?

The officer's mess, can I go there, at least?

If I shoot down a plane, will I see a guy/guys bail out?

Can pick up survivors?

Will there be stuff other than boxes floating on the surface?

Will the sinking ship's crew go to the lifeboats?

Will there be missions other than patrolling an area for some time?

will the Destroyers/Pt boats shoot torpedos too? will there be those suicide manned torpedos?

Will it look like I'm moving from one compartment to another rather that just poofing there? Like the door opens and I move through it?

Will there be Kamakazees?

My grandpa told me there were Japanese soldiers who actually pushed a mine to a boat/ship. Will there bo those kind of things?

I appreciate you taking our questions, plz answer what you can. Thank you!

HI,
I have been playing the SH series from the beginning. If you can get this to the developers, then great. I would love to see the crew of the sinking ships take to the boats. Also, a more realistic damage model would be awesome. Lets see dents, crunches and leaking fuel. I want to see both the sub and the targets break up as they take damage.
Best,

Asking for explosions and dents are all well and good but that is not really the core of the game just gloss on a finished product.

I would ask.

1. Will there be more options available to the radioman other than Send patrol report, send contact report? For example, you should be able to send a distress call if your boat is severely damaged and then they will come help you.

2. I have taken a merciless beating after being depthcharged, I surface, can I abandon ship and accept capture? Rather than being killed?

3. Will the destroyers in this ever run out of ammo?

4. The possibility of reversing one of my engines to make tighter turns?

5. It would be pretty good if I could have a walk round the inside of the sub too, any chance we can do that?

6. More tactics for evading depthcharges... during the war many subs used to fire out old junk from a torpedo tube to make it look like they were dead. Also they would pump oil out to the sea too. Wouldn't it be sweet to be able to do that?

7. Might be an idea if the game came with a purpose folder specifically to put downloaded content into.

so you'd have C:My Documents/SH4/Downloads or something, that way anything we download goes in there specifically and if we dont want it at a later date we go in and delete it, hey presto, no problems no fuss. Any chance we can have that?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Lots of great questions http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

GoldenEagle - I think I can pre-empt the answers to some of yours...

I would really like to interact with my crew beyond just periscope depth, and such, I would like to ask like, how are you? how is your family? have you seen "Der Fuehrer's Face"? ect.
I think there would be too much work needed to do this - it would almost be like making 'The Sims'!

when the room I'm in starts flooding, can I see the water in the room?
If I get crew down on the deck, he shouldn't just poof down in a bunk room, can I see him on the deck, with some blood stains, or such?
That would be great, but imagine how much work would be needed to animate the crew to react to this in a realistic way!

AI subs??
I think the dev interview on subsim.com already ruled this out http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif. We can live in hope for this... maybe they will surprise us!

missions other than patrolling an area for some time?
This one is already covered in the 'key features' section on silenthunter4.com - there will be a variety of special missions made available in career mode http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Would be interesting to have surface ships using there signal lights to communicate.

Add some realism with simple code additions. Don't bother to make it morse as the codes they used made it gibberish to any observer not qued in.

Mods

1a. Is SH4 designed with modding expressly in mind?

1b. In the event a mod 'misbehaves' will SH4 trap the exception properly and pass an appropriate error message instead of just crashing to the desktop?

1c. Will there be an SH4 SDK to assist with mod/mission development? Or at least some documentation on how things work?

1d. Will Ubisoft release any of the designers' graphics tools, etc, so we don't have to waste time hacking up our own?

Gameplay

2a. Will destroyers have realistic ammunition limits?

2b. Will the weather model be improved (the SH2 "weather front" model was superior to SH3's "6 weeks of heavy fog" model)?

2c. Will the crew fatigue model be improved?

2d. Will the damage model be similar to SH3's or be more oriented to target vulnerabilities (a la Grey Wolves)?

2e. Will the interface be similar to SH3's or has it been significantly altered?

2f. Will SH4 include in-patrol resupplying?

Multiplayer

3a. Is SH4 designed with multiplayer in mind?

3b. Will there be an updated Destroyer Command that it will be compatible with?

3c. Will it include team voice support?

Specs

4a. Will the SH4 system requirements be similar to those of SH3 or can we expect it to load our PCs more heavily?

4b. Is SH4 designed to run on DX9 machines initially with a DX10 patch coming later (eg, like MS Flight Simulater X)?

4c. Will SH4 have an intelligently designed licensing mechanism (eg, like Galactic Civs II) or will we be forced to install a heap of ****e like StarForce?

4d. Will SH4 be multithreaded?

Why are you making SH4 when you couldn?t be bothered to address the issues with SH3?

Why was it left to the community to fix it?

Will SH4 only be worth getting when the modders have turned it into what it should have been in the first place?

Why are you now going to give me a Ubi vacation?

Hi,

Will you adapt SHIV to stereoscopic gaming (i.e. Virtual Reality) please?

I have seen that SH3 is incredible in stereoscopic mode, except for the bad z-index of some 2D planes which leads to a kind of double image for these planes. The solution is so easy IMHO, simply changing these index to a correct depth is enough to have the game fully 3D compatible.

Ok, I'm really glad everyone's getting into this. We will be streaming these questions to our insider with the devs on a regular basis. HOWEVER, our insider has some strange annoying habit of ONLY ASKING QUESTIONS to the devs. So please be careful how you word any suggestions, thoughts, musings, ideas etc.

So, if you want the devs to actually hear you, please be sure to make your post in the form of a question (like jeopardy but without winning any money). Otherwise, there's less chance that our insider will mention your post. Thanks, and please keep those questions coming!<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Questions:

Will you be able to play during the last year of the war, 1945?
As in able to continue sailng up to Japan's surrender. In reality, boats didn't stop sailing New Year's Eve 1944.

Will there be historical battles in the campaign that you are able to participate in once you reach that date?
Battle of Midway, Battle of the Coral Sea, Battle of the Phillipine Sea, etc.

This looks frustrating. Out of four questions that have an answer for, just one is a clear answer...For the others, it is a matter of time, taking a decision or being subtle.

A company called Combat Planes Inc. (http://www.combatplanes.ca/products.htm) publishes two expansion packs for SH3 although the developer is called X-1 Software. The first is called "Seawolves" and the second is called "U-boat: Battle in the Mediterranean".

They were authorised by Ubisoft. They also contain stolen freeware mods. (The spyware doesn't help matters any either).

For example, a well known modder called Sergbuto identified certain of his ships and skins in both packs (see http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=97553). There have been others. Elements of The Grey Wolves, one of the best and most popular freeware supermods, have been identified in these packs, and the list goes on.

You need to remember that the modding community is very close. Just about everybody knows everybody not least because of lengthy and close collaborations. Whilst some modders work alone, many work in teams, especially on the supermods, the biggest and best of which rival SH3 itself in scope. They not only know their own work, they therefore know each others'. And since they respect each other they quite rightly resent their work and the work of their friends and colleagues being sold for someone else's profit without their permission.

Pop over to the SubSim forums (http://www.subsim.com) and do a search on "Seawolves", etc. You'll get pages of threads and you'll be reading for hours (older threads are probably more useful than newer ones, many of which have become repetitive). But for your own well-being don't start asking questions until you've done your homework. The community's loathing for X1/Combat Planes is second only to that we reserve for Starforce and tempers get very hot very quickly. For example, these days the mods are invariably forced to step in when a newbie innocently asks for opinions about whether these packs are worth getting and promptly gets roasted.

You might ask why nothing has been done by the aggrieved parties. To start with, the SH3 EULA is confusing to say the least about the extent to which Ubisoft approves modding at all, although Ubisoft appears to encourage it at http://www.silent-hunteriii.com/uk/communitymods.php. It's a lawyer's wet dream involving not least copyright law across multiple jusidictions, and modders are just ordinary people with a passion for (in this case) a submarine simulation called SH3 and they don't have the deep pockets necessary to tackle a big company in notoriously expensive judicial systems. But the resentment simmers and occasionally boils over.

Ubisoft would regain great credibility with the community if it were to both write the SH4 EULA more clearly than the SH3 one, especially with respect to modding, and if it were to publicly disavow "Partners" that make money from other people's work. It's already agreed to dump Starforce so we can leave that one alone.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Thank you for the opportunity to ask these questions to the people who know the answers.

What units of measurement will SH4 use?

Will SH4 measure speed and distance in the same unit of measurement?

Will SH4's weather change more predictably? i.e. If your in a storm you can wait a day or three (or five) and it WILL blow through.

Will the player be able to get weather forecasts? To help the player decide to wait out the bad weather or attack before the weather gets worse.

Is the SH4's world flat (and stretched towards the poles) like SH3's, or a globe, like Microsoft Flight Simulator's?

Thanks again.

I have not seen a answer to this but will ask anyways.

What are the minimal system specs going to look like?

Are the Torp troubles of the U.S. able to be recreated completely to history? Are we going to have the same problems(100% Realism) as they did?

Thanks for your time.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Can we please have gauges that we can read? Some of us here are at an advanced stage in life and micro print on small gauges is difficult.
Also could we please control the hydrophone wheel with the left and right arrows? Using the mouse is a chore.

Can we be radioed missions like rescueing downed pilots, picking up and inserting special forces, reconnaissance, or being directed to a certain location for a specific target?

Can the crew system be retooled? I just finished my 22 patrol on SH3. With the exception of a couple of AA gunners who were killed, I have the same crew. All my officers are now the same rank as me and most of the crew has all their awards. To be realistic, these people should transfer to other boats, especially the officers. I think it should cost some renown to keep the people you train.

I know it's already been said, but it's worth saying again after the way it is in SH3.

Allow the resolution to be changed to ANYTHING. Widescreen ratio's included.

Playing Silent Hunter III on my Samsung 20 inch widescreen LCD at 1024x768 SUCKS when the native resolution is 1650x1080.

Also keep the future in mind. In 2-3 years people may still want to play Silent Hunter IV (imagine that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif ) and their computers will be significantly more powerful than they are today, so allow for detail settings, draw distances, max texture sizes and stuff like that to scale via mods or patches.

Also, if it's not too late... multi-threading!!!

Are going to have the number of crew members rise from 4 in the up to 9 in subs tower. This was the number that was on watch every day in the tower on watch in yank subs in the pacific in enemy waters. You only have to look at old war time documentarys to see about this as they both tell & show you about it.

A lot of the responses we've seen so far seem to revolve around tactical minutiae or ability to mod the game.

What about strategic issues such as I've previously asked? Time stamp for the nav map marker, ability to add text to nav map (could be mitigated by time/date stamp on the marker), or the availability of Midway Island as a fuel stop without trashing a patrol.

So far, I've seen nothing good about strategic issues. Will Midway be a factor or no? YES would be a good answer for players like me who don't want SH3 rubber stamped to the Pacific. Especially since Midway was a routine refuleing stop for US subs when/if they needed it. Of course, we always have the option of slecting unlimited fuel, but come on...why carry that over when history provides the answer?

A lot of great add-ons, editors, and utilities have been developed for the last Silent Hunter Pacific Theater sim, i.e., Silent Hunter Commander's Edition. These tools, such as Hawk's Silent Hunter Utilities, have greatly benefited the older game's historical accuracy and overall functionality. Has the Dev Team considered these Silent Hunter Commander's Edition tools in designing SH4 and if so will any of them be included in it in any way?

Thanks!

Just a few questions.

Will there actually be ships docked in ports this time? (I battled thought lots of destroyers in SH3 to get into an enemy port, and the thing was deserted. No ships/fishing boats at all.)

If so will there be sub nets in ports? And Maybe Small row boats in ports? Tugs?

Will there be land based targets to engage with the deck gun? Cars/Trucks/factory's/troops?

Will there be marine life? (ie. fish/sharks)

Will there be underwater plants, or reefs? Sea Weed.(Especially in shallow water)

When ships sink, will the crew jump ship. (Like into the water) and swim for it? (I would love to gun down helpless sailors trying to swim for it. Or rescue my own country's men.)

When you get close to a Port (like Tokyo) will you be able to tune in and here enemy propaganda on your radio? (like "Tokyo Rose")

Will there be mines? Can you deploy them? AI Mine Sweepers?

first off hello, new to the forums, but old time SH player.

I would like to see Sub tenders, and resupply.
(the lack of milkcows in SH3 was disappointing)

Having the boat in a vunerable situation, would add some more intersting game play.
(if you get caught while resupplying)

Did I read this answer correctly? Did you mean the true 1917 era S-Boats will be available in SH4 in your answer below (I hope) or were you referring to the Salmon/Sargo class?

Thanks!

Q: P38Ace: I read the article and said the P class, Tambor and Gato are included, but I wonder if the S class and Narwhal class will included as they were in SH1
A: The Narwhal won't be included in the release version of the game as it doesn't fit - historically speaking - with the type of gameplay that we have prepared.

The S-class however? is in.

Navigation: Two of the things that I've always thought could be improved upon in SH3 were the navigation screen, as well as the options related to your Navigation Officer. Will there be any additional functionality for moving from place to place?

And i have some questions.
In SH3, the weather model in relation to manning the anti-aircraft guns and deck guns was relatively restrictive. Will this be addressed? Even better, will the player be allowed to make a decision and risk his men to being washed overboard to save a torpedo?

Also, will multiple skins be built into the game, based on realistic designs in various areas of the pacific?

My computer is ****, will the game support lowered graphics settings, and more customizable i.e. texture detail, weather detail, etc.?

I don't know if anyone else had this problem in SH3, but I never seemed to be able to wound any of my crewmen. The conning tower would be struck by a bomb and my entire bridge crew be wiped out, without a sole survivor. Will this (if it's really a problem, my brother broke my SH3 after 2 months) problem be addressed?

I'll problem figure out some to ask later, but if anyone in the forum or any of the moderaters has an answer or two it would be highly appreciated.

What I'd really love to see implemented in SHIV is that the game would take into account the ships you sank, let me explain : in all the sub sims I've played since gato, no matter how many aircraft carriers you sink, there still are more ! Like the japanese navy of WWII could mass produce them ! They only had four I think. I mean you don't influence the war at all, so it gets tedious playing after a while.
I'm currently playing SHIII with aces of the deep 2.1 as an add on, it looks nice, but even if I beat all german aces sinking total, it doesn't matter, doesn't influence the war results in the end, and that's a real pain.
Well I sure hope they take that into account in the next one, SHIV that is. Fred

Like many on this board, I have preordered SH4. In the past, I have played most games right out of the box, only referring back to the instructions for later clarification. Most people do not want to get a new game and spend the first several hours reading an instruction manual; they want to play immediately. By doing this, gameplay can be compromised by not taking full advantage of all of the features.

How about Ubisoft sending out an advance copy of the instruction manual, or posting it on this site? With the understanding that this would be a Beta release and subject to change, it would give all of us the opportunity to get ready for the game itself. Or perhaps as an inducement\reward to those who have prepurchased, Ubisoft could email the manual to our address of record.

With the release date so close, surely the manual must have been finalized already. How about it, Ubisoft?

Hi

1. Like I saw in one of the SH4 beta trailers on youtube.com . When my torpedo hits, can I actually see the impact hole, and actually see the interior of the ship through the impact hole?

2. In the cover for Silent Hunter 1. You see a huge battleship going down in the backround and a S-Class US Submarine in the foreground I believe, the battleship had a huge impact hole in it, and it was burning, under water. Will we be able to see that in-game in SH4 ?

3. I know you guys have a strict policy on such things. But why not see a single survivor in the water when you sink a 2000 crew battleship?..
I mean, it was war, and sinking ships and leaving survivors was simply just the way it was done, and it would be weak if you dont put that in, cuz thats just how it was back then, and how it always will be. You could forexample, make survivors in the water, but hurting them in any way= Impossible.

4.To see other ships actually come to rescue survivors amongst the wreckage.

5. To see people walking around on the deck of all ships. Example: Battlestations Midway.

6. Yet another nasty question: People on deck being blown up by torpedo impact/bomb/shell.

7. Aiming with deck gun, like with anti aircraft weaponry, in the scope/sights, to see it go up/down, both by aiming, and the waves.

8. Crewmembers being wounded (No blood or anything. Just wounded crewmen.) So if one of them is badly injured, you can choose to go to port, of which the crew hails you, or to continue the mission and risk the wounded to past on, of which you get bad morale amongst your crew.

9. Not actually see the torpedo room, but, when firing a torpedo, maybe a little video in the bottom left or right, where you see a man pushing the torpedo fire levers down?

10. If you hit/sink an enemy ship, you actually see the crew cheering and smiling.

11. If you get depthcharged, you see your crew screaming, getting edgy, the less the chance of survival, the worse the mood amongst the crew.

Edit: 12. Owh and I almost forgot: Will Silent Hunter 4 be compatible with Windows Vista ?

Thats all for now! No offense meant in either question. Most of theese questions I have had on my mind for 11 years now.

If there's no multi-window support...

What, if any, improvement can be expected if playing in dual GPU SLI mode?

Sinking dynamics

As a boat sinks bubbles from it should rise at an angle in proportion to the slippage through the water, velocity and currents.

A sinking boat can spew debris and fuel into the water as it sinks and this may sink and or rise to the surface and disperse and eventually sink.

A sinking boats flags should furl opposite the direction OF THE SINKING to be realistic.

Have you implemented any of this in SHIV?

What interior stations are modeled within the 2 compartments (Control Room & Conning Tower); as the Navigator's Station, Weapons Officer's Station, Diving Station, aft Control Room, fore Conning Tower, and aft Conning Tower where in SH3?

How will the refuel system work? I have read an answered question that stated that bases such as Midway will be available for refuel. Did the devs work out a system that allows for a refuel/rearm option, maybe that just tops you off a lets you go on your way?

How about AI units actually being able to use their torpedoes this time? Torpedo boats that can't launch torpedoes, that's ridiculous!

How will sub selection work in multiplayer? Will there be selectable options for year, boat, and pre-determined "renown" points to buy equipment?

Hi new here. My Dad was on the U.S.S. Carbonero SS-337.So my two questions are these.
1. Can you change your boat? ie. from Gato to Balao class with appropiate armorment.
2.Can you change the hull number on the boat?
Thanks for any help anyone can give.

I got 2 questions

1. Will the planes in game be more detailed then in SH3?

2. Are there any plans to make a Sea Battle sim, where you could take control of the biggers ships. Being an old fan of the Greate Naval battles games I would love to see a good sim in that direction http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Could you at least consider joining SH3 and Sh4 together for SH5 ... I won't even ask for DC2 if you would do that ... at least consider it?

What if we all pre-paid half now and half later on delivery ... wouldn't that prove a few us are serious?

Based on IGN previews, they state anti aliasing doesnt work in Silent Hunter 4. Can you please clarify this? Does Silent Hunter 4 support FSAA anti aliasing?

I dont care if it doesnt have ingame FSAA, but I really care if my NVIDIA control panel FSAA settings can show up in SHIV. if it wont do that, then what a sad game

Hey everyone, as the game is just about on top of us, I've been told that we have enough questions to see us to the game launch. So with that, we'll be closing this thread, and not accepting any more questions to the developers.

As I stated from the beginning I can't guarantee if your question has or will be answered. But I definitely want to thank everyone for submitting their questions. By far, we're the Silent Hunter forum that got the most of their questions answered, and it's thanks to everyone's enthusiasm and excitement for the game that this happened. Thanks for all the great questions, and keep checking the answers thread as Silent Hunter: Wolves of the Pacific gets closer and closer to launch!

Ok, as this game is ready for release and no more questions can be asked regarding SH4, then can I ask a question of them that is off topic? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif

Please check out my "Begging for a Surface Naval Game" thread. Now that development for SH4 is basically finished, do they have any idea where they will be going next? What chances are that they might do a surface naval game or destroyer command equivilant? Do us surface sailors have a chance of attention in the future?
