I would rather just have PF but the community on Hyperlobby is merged.

08-09-2005, 08:02 PM
In my squad we fly standalone, but I also have merged up to PF installed.

The whole shootin' match here.

Why in the name of Wilbur and Orville would anyone have it any other way?

I just don't understand people's reluctance to have it all. More planes, more maps, what's not to like?

Agreed, more options, more planes, more maps, more fun - Love it.

I agree with Hawk, I would like to do stand alone as I have no intrest in the Russian-German plane sets, but the community is merged so merged it is.

Offliner here. The only way to go is the "whole shootin' match".

08-09-2005, 10:59 PM
had il2 but didnt really get into it , wanted pf badly for a pacific sim , added the rest because....Why not !! PF 35 bucks , fb 15 bucks , aep 5 bucks. online , all the planes , all the maps , all the theaters , all the stuff!as i said , why not..... get the whole shootin match!

08-09-2005, 11:53 PM
Merged & Standalone & IL2 Sturmovik & FB1.22

The whole shootin' match http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Edit: < pout mode >Awwww.... it only lets me vote once http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif < /pout mode >

Do like the others Tully, create new accounts (always wondered what was the point of having half a dozen accounts on these boards... until now)

I fly merged, i like variety.

08-10-2005, 01:06 AM
I have "the whole enchilada" http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

But I bought PF first http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Oleg, I love u man!
next patch: Just add "n00b" to the La-7 description http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif

08-10-2005, 02:48 AM
Everything. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Had FB and AEP first, the eastern front really is my favi part of the game. But the carrier aspect of PF appealed to me and having other improvements really gave us no choice. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif And yes, ofcourse, for online flying there is no other option!

08-10-2005, 03:17 AM
Well, I first started off with PF standalone. But once I found out you can get biplanes in FB+AEP, I searched high and low for it in Australia, till I got it off eBay. I was happy as a pig in a pool of mud that day http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

08-10-2005, 03:19 AM
I fly on standalone most of the time but i have merged installed and sometimes i do fly on that side. I'm more interested of the pacific theater.

08-10-2005, 03:33 AM
I came to the series late and acquired PF first
Im currently flying PF standalone patched up to 4.01
I have FB and cant wait to get a merged install so as I can try the Eastern Front! (Not having to land on a carrier will improve my mission success rate 100% !!!) but dont want to "unlearn" the new flight models by going to FB stand alone...
AEP has been quite difficult to track down in the UK - i had one on order from amazon for 2 months with no sign of arrival but ordered from a new retailer yesterday and am hopeful of acquiring it soon!
So bring it on!

08-10-2005, 04:09 AM
Mmm make mine a combo with fries...

Hooked since the original IL-2 was released a few years back and currently running fully merged FB/PF 4.01 and have never looked back dspite the nay-sayers http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

BTW, im far more interested in the Euro plane sets, but couldnt pass up the opportunity to break a Corsair or 12 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

08-10-2005, 05:23 AM
PF and Il2 standalone. I always dreamed about Corsair.
Think i'll buy AeP and FB to play on more populated servers.

08-10-2005, 06:58 AM
The whole thing! Wouldn't have it any other way http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

08-10-2005, 07:06 AM
il2,FB-AEP-PF,PF Standalone...
fly mainly standalone, with brief forays into merged.

08-10-2005, 07:29 AM
Merged all the way.

i like flying that HE 111 (still can't get that ****ed horizontal bombing down pat)

Grrrr But such a fun plane to fly

Apart from that i still like jumping into an IL2. If you can acutally make it to your attack site without being eaten alive.....Whhoooaaa those IL2 can carry a large amount of whoop asss.

08-10-2005, 08:20 AM
Started PF as standalone, while still flying AEP V2.04, so I could try it without merging into my AEP. Then, I had 3 installs for awhile...AEP V2.04, PF Standalone and PF merged.

Now, down to just merged due to the limited amount of PF standalone servers and the bulk of the community flies V4.01m.

08-10-2005, 09:05 AM
I have a PF standalone and one with IL2/FB/AEP/PF all merged. I usually fly the latter.

Regarding this being the ultimate WWII CFS out there I "almost" agree. The only two things I think it needs to hold that title hands down is a persistent arena like an MMOG would have and/or a decent campaign/career system. I have about 20 dead careers that represent hundreds of hours, nothing kills the immersion like having a 80 sortie career cut short by a crappy software glitch.

08-10-2005, 09:10 AM
Merged + Standalone, for stupid reasons.

08-10-2005, 09:31 AM
Merged as I like to have every available option available http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif. Having said that Europe is where it's at for me (East or West), Pacific is just an extra.

08-10-2005, 09:44 AM
Merged, up to 4.01m

It just happened to become that way ...

It started for me in 2001 with IL2 Sturmovik.
Then came FB, then AEP and PF.

How could I have installed it in any other way but merged?

And I'm patched up to 4.01m, partly because of online play, but now with the latest patch I mainly play offline, as it seems there's many new things to discover and learn ...

(To me the 'new FM' stands for 'New Fun Model!')

08-10-2005, 12:41 PM
It should be compulsory for consumers to equip the whole kit-and-kabootle! (That being 4.01 FB+AEP+PF)

08-10-2005, 12:46 PM
Full house, patched up to the eyeballs. While I'm not especially interested in the PTO itself, I've had nothing but satisfaction from the game.

08-10-2005, 12:56 PM
The full v.4.01m monty here.

Me too, because the Sturmo just plain f**king __R__O__X__ http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

08-10-2005, 01:15 PM
The whole shebang. Bought PF first, loved it so much just HAD to get the rest. Will get BoB too when it arrives!

By the way, merged.

08-10-2005, 01:30 PM

I have been playing since March2002 IIRC but thanks to online wars Im not getting bored.

I think that in my case the community has the biggest influence on my gameplay. There are people willing to host games even if this costs them nerves and time.

Online war creators are the coolest guys. They do it for free for us just to have fun flying.

08-10-2005, 02:54 PM
4.01m for the whole 9 yards.

08-10-2005, 07:35 PM
Bought original Il-2 when it came out, didn't care for it nor did I have a computer that could handle it very well. I traded it in, but when I heard of PF my interest was rekindled. Preordered PF, played it stand alone till I was able to find Forgotten Battles Gold Pack in a store and now I'm up to 4.01m.

08-10-2005, 08:24 PM
Full Monty merged, yessir. Almost strictly offline play.

08-11-2005, 03:22 AM
start with pf only get fb/aep for online no other reason i hardly not fly western and russian plane find them boring and just have no conection with. so i be flying this unless another pacfific sim come out or bob get pacific addon v_v

fb+aep+pf and pf only for friend that not have or cant get rest

08-16-2005, 12:34 AM
Merged 4.01m
like choice to fly with all what is possible http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif i`m really curious , not only as a virtual pilot http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif
Mostly fly European theatre, but I like Pacific too http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif

08-16-2005, 02:59 AM
fb+aep+pf 4.01m

like to get the feeling and full monty of this somewhat new game so I use only merged and to be able to play in most of the online games is not exactly a drawback either http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

as I got pf not long ago I am curently tweking my controls to be just right for the new fm (for one I had way to much rudder input) and somewhat relearning to fly correctly

08-16-2005, 04:50 AM
Merged. Been with this sim since I spotted an article in a computer mag all those years ago and thought "Hmmm, the Russian front. That'll make a nice change." Little did I know what I was getting into - it's like some silly affair now, we have disagreements, walk out, come back seeking forgiveness, dislike some of the things she's done with her hair and wardrobe, but love the old bat so much you'll put up with her strange ways...
Guess I'm preaching to the converted here http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

08-16-2005, 02:29 PM
Many installs on my PC
FB+AEP - Ver 2.04 Flying on UBI site now

FB+AEP+PF - Ver 3.04m Was flying on HL

FB+AEP+PF - Ver 4.01m Flying on HL now

08-16-2005, 03:08 PM
Flying the merged installation, patched to 4.01m. And loving it.

08-16-2005, 03:23 PM
It's the best there is, why deny myself any of it!!! FB.AEP.PF 4.01m Gotta get those rudder pedels now though...4.01 tells me!!

08-16-2005, 03:41 PM
Started w/ PF tho .. then realised I was missing out on a whole lot of other fun.

Best WW2 sim out there, wishing Oleg was working on WW1 instead of BOB, but oh well...

This is most immersive sim I've played, only surpassed by the pure adrenalin rush of Steel Beasts during a full TGIF battle. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

08-17-2005, 10:04 PM
IL2, FB, FB+AEP, FB+AEP+PF 4.01m, FB+AEP+PF 3.04m, PFSA 4.01, PFSA 3.04.

Multiple installs rock. Only drawback is that it takes up a LOT of room.

08-18-2005, 04:25 AM
Well, room is at a premium for me... when I want to install something, I have to uninstall a couple of games to find the space!

I fly 4.01m. I'm not really interested by the PTO (I'm grateful for the Beaufighter though) but this is the way to get all the enhancements and aircraft and the new FM, which I like. Plus, back in the good old days, I could play online at HL with a whole bunch of other people.

08-18-2005, 10:02 AM
i have merged but i dont really give a **** about the pacific front .. european front rules baby1!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/mockface.gif
