am i the only one having problems with tracks???

seems i have either 2 choices

record the track after the mission(saved as .trk)
or record at start(saved as .ntrk)

.trk are horribly unreliable.
.ntrk show really wierd plane movement, planes seem to skip, and move in increments rather then smoothly(as normal), best example i can give is that they look like they were recorded online.

Shortly after i finished Another Day i started on another movie, but changed my mind on it just after i started filming it. It was too complex.

Started another, this time, i started recording campaign missions, rather then trying to invent a story from scratch, i let dgen do it for me, played 1 mission a night, saved the tracks and picked the best 1 for a flim.
I accidently forgot to start recording at the start of the mission, so i had to save it as a .trk.
played back, and it was a very differnt track, fortunatly it was 10x better http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif and i loved it, started hammering the movie out(with dgen doing all the work i could have put it out in a week) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Scrags movie came out, and i like the effects so much, i wanted to apply them to it, but the movie had low lighting, so it looked pretty bad with the realism saturation look(you really need high noon conditions to get that cgi look going). Though the camera shake looked great.

so i figured id start again, played a few campaign missions, recorded an incredible track, tons of action good story and all. But because i saved it as .ntrk at the start of the mission(played the same mission 3 times to get more footage to choose from), all aircraft move in wierd ways. Thier tails seem to bounce in a turn. It ruined the whole thing. Even in level flying, aircraft move in larg increments rather then smoothly. But it is most noticable in a hard turn. I dont really know how to explain it.

Anyone else getting this, aircraft seem to hop like it was an online recording or something? this only happens in the 1.1, i never had any problems with .ntrks before.

Anyone know a way around this?
i cant use .trks cuz they are unreliable(even if i dont use time compression), i cant use .ntrks cuz the movement is horribly unrealistic in turns, or level flight.

Davinci, I have had the same problem with the 'jumping' planes. I have worked round it with judicious editing, but it is a pain. Are you also talking about A.I planes using the rear flaps like a fan, i.e it looks like they are twitching? That too is a pain, but again I got round it with editing. So that's no help at all, just my experience.

This was solved with the latest patch, have you applied it? I used to get the same exact problem until I applied the latest patch for IL2:FB.

im running 1.11

i reinstall my os about once a month, to keep my comp clean and running will.
So this is a fresh out of the box fb 1.0 install, then patched with the 45meg 1.0-1.11 patch.

ive been horribly busy with work lately, but i think i would have noticed a new patch comming http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif 1.11 is the latest available right? heh im still waiting for 1.2 to come out with the b17.

But i still have this problem. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
I wonder if this is an issue with the full 1.11 patch, and mabey a 1.0-1.1b, then 1.1b to 1.11 would solve it.

.trks play back fine, but are unreliable.
.ntrks are reliable, but give me this wierd movment, specifically in hard turns or level flight making small adjustments.

Davinci, you are not alone with this problem.
I never started looking at the movements of AI closely until I started movie editing, and before this I just used to play online.
I have FB out of the box patched to 1.11 and the AI DO move in wierd twitchy-like movements a lot of the time.
They were doing it in my 'Sacrifice' movie but careful editing helped hide it.
I just assumed this was the nature of AI and didn't realise it was a bug.
I never lookied at AI movements in IL2 (original version) or pre-patch FB. Were they at some point smooth?

I haven't been in ORR for a while because of my enthusiasm for movie making. Has this ever been mentioned there.
I could do a search but you know how bad the search facility is on these boards.

I may do an un-install of FB and a fresh re-install and re-patch, just in case anything went wrong the first time.

That is very odd, I was capturing recently, before the RAF voice pack project, and have not noticed any problem after the patch (1.1b -> 1.11), definitelly had it on 1.1b. I will run some test to see if I can replicate your problem and if so, this is a BIG problem for us movie makers that Oleg has to address for ver 1.2 ASAP!

note: i think it is more then just twitchy AI movment. its more of a "skipping" and not something ive ever seen before.
Ai has allways been a little bit twitchy, this is very differnt.
Ai is on crack now or sometihng, and i could edit around it(like i would normally do if i saw something i dont like), but this would take huge chunks out of everything.

The only differnce between recording tracks before, was they were allways in qmb or fmb, these tracks were recorded in a campaign mission, and i am wondering if this effect is limited to tracks recored in campaigns.

Ill upload some tracks later(i have to go out now), for you to see exactly what i am talking about, this isnt just twitching, its flat out skipping/jumping.

Davinci, You might be onto something since my tracks do not come from the Campaign, I either make them (Scripted) or use the quick play option.
