S !
I was re-reading Yeager´s memories and wonder if he´s still alive.
What an icon of aviation, isn´t it ?! He stated that the Fw-190 A8 was the only Luftwaffe figther comparable to the Mustang.

He was alive this summer. I was standing about 10 feet from him at the EAA Fly In at Oshkosh, WI. He was signing autographs at the time. I told my 10 year old and his friend who he was and what he did. My son responded back, but aren't all those guys dead...

Probably the single most important pilot to test our game:

Eric Brown (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=63110913&m=309109534&r=230101634#230101634)

He sure is, and he is still flying too, well. . . that brings something up:

"A plane flown by famed test pilot Chuck Yeager went off a runway and into a ditch Thursday OCT02, 2003 while taxiing after landing. Yeager, 80, had a bump on his head but neither he nor his wife, Victoria, was seriously injured in the accident at Heaven's Landing. Yeager's single-engine, two-seat military training plane (AT6 Texan) was landed on runway 23 despite the light quartering tailwind, after which Yeager lost control and the aircraft went into a ditch. Yeager was embarrassed and onlookers were reportedly "humbled." "

Yeager should know a lot about the 190, he was shot down by one.

With that being said, Eric Hartman was shot down and forced to bail by a P-51 as wellhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

"Is Chuck Yeager alive ?"

Wow. I always thought he was no more on this world. The last time I saw his pic was on an old FS game for the Amiga? Spectrum in the `80s - he seemed old then. The way a lot of Americans quote him I always felt that maybe he`d gone into mythical status land, a bit like Douglas Bader.

How old is he now?

Erich Hartman was not shot down by a P51.
He was being chased by eight P51s and only bailed out when he ran out of gas.

Yes, Hartmann had attacked 60 P51s and P47s and single-handedly shot down 50 of them. He had run out of both gas and ammo and was forced to run away. When they caught him, he was still able to down another 2 with only his Luger while flying deadstick.

Erich Hartman was asigned to take a Stuka dive

it into a dispersal hut ion take off.He was also
forced to crash land or bail 14 times in combat.
