For thos who don't know, the "expansion" pack ("Seawolves" in English, "Seew√¬∂lfe" auf Deutsch) is a collection of numerous mods, which are packaged together on a single CD-ROM, with a little manual to go with it.

This "expansion" is controversial in the sense that it collects and sells mods that are already available on the Internet and, as far as I know, without payment to the original modders who made them. Additionally, due to the ever-updating-mod scene, it is thought that this "expansion" will date very quickly. Thus, some people are choosing not to buy it because of these reaons.

Advocates of the product say that it allows those without Internet access (and the time to hunt thereon) to obtain a lot of good mods that have been tested and packaged into one easy-to-install suite. It also is putting SH3 on the shelves of shops for longer - thus promoting the base product (and thus the chances of more official support from UbiSoft, either for SH3 or - more likely - for SH4).

But, as I say, it is very controversial. You should check the website, read the debate on the boards and decide for yourself.

I personally bought a copy from a shop (Saturn, Theresienwiese) and am happy with it.

You don't need me when you've got Trydan! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

His only mistake was buying SW. Weakness of the flesh.

If I wanted something similar in one big package, I would download the 200MB IRUb Mod. It's available from u-boot.realsimulation.com (http://u-boot.realsimulation.com), your place for one-stop SH3 downloading - all absolutely free.

And as Trydan said, these free mods are "living", being constantly updated and improved.

So, if you can, download the latest and greatest mods, instead of giving your money to some people who used a lot of dishonest tactics and words to slap together a mediocre retail package.

Please help keep our planet clean. Thank you. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif
