All you VVS guys dont take offense to this, the reason I say VVS newbs, is because you cant tell a LW newb from as far away. You know you got a VVS newb when you see someone all alone flying at 4k with two streams of black smoke pumping out of their stacks/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif With the new stallable VVS planes it adds to the fun...Whenever you see one of these guys that has the smoke pumping out of their Yak or La, sneak up behind them and give them a little squirt above and to the left or right, they almost always break hard and go spinning down/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif I would do the same to LW newbs but I am never sure which ones are, and dont want to let the good ones know that Im coming until its too late.

hehe, those two streams of smoke are a dead give away as to the skill of the VVS pilot/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif . Whenever I see those two streams of smoke, I know they are only target practice.

At the start of WW2 the German army lacked experienced anti-aircraft gunners. The average gunner was so bad that the USSR decided to help them out. They did it by forcing some of their pilots to fly I-153 flak magnets. These planes were slow but very sturdy. This allowed German anti-aircraft gunners to get a large amount of target practice on a relatively small number of planes. Thanks to the Soviets help, by the end of the war the German anti-aircraft gunners were amoung the best in the world.

even more experienced vvs pilots are easily lured into a tnb with ex-uber planes and now they run out of energy /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif ahh the joy of unloading into a low and slow la5f /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Of course this will change when vvs pilots learn the tactics okl pilots had to learn since beginning. For now it kicks llamas donkey.

Feeling a bit arrogant today, are we? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

LW newbies are easy to spot as well. They go vertical with total disregard of their surroundings. It's sooo easy to pop a slow 190 and 109 at the top of their climb.

Honestly? Either the later war LW planes have been bumped up too much or the late war VVS planes have been clipped a tad too hard. I wouldn't go so far as an "uber/unter" deal but certainly expect some corrections in the next patch. Hope those are not too drastic and go the other way again.

We seem to be perpetually see-sawing around the "just right" point, but right now LW is on the high end. I'll enjoy it while I can but fully expect this not to last.

Jetbuff, what do you mean? La-7 still outturns late war German planes, is still faster than late war 109s.. speed is about same as Dora .. but it has other disadvantages, like you can dive away with FW-190, and use superior roll rate,, I see nothing bad at this.. IMHO Axis and VVS are finally balanced.. they never were on FB 1.0

I fly LW, and I say this with all honesty. The La7 is the underdog now, no parity whatsoever. You have altitude on it you win. You don't, you run away. Nice change true, but I can't help but question the accuracy of the FM if that is the case.

PS: and turning is not what I'm concerned about, it's the break-up speed mostly and possibly a few other minor issues. I wanted to note it because I know it will be changed, I just hope it doesn't go too far the other way again.
