Does the carpet match the drapes?

The water in the cockpit shot looks much better than the water in the environment shot. Give me a couple minutes and I'll make you another environment shot that looks virtually the same from my IL2/FB/PF/PE2 install.

I noted the same thing to some people in the know. When asked about clouds, water and cities I was informed that 'we haven't been shown the goodies" yet.

I am particularly eager to compare terrain engine graphics ect......

Gentlemen don't tell.
Nor do they ask.
But they might try to find out.

The water in Fb is already very well done, I'm sure that there will be no comparison between the terrain in FB and BOB.

Amazing detail in those pits...How much will the new CEM include?
Will pits be clickable? Why no ingame shots if release date is nov-06?

When buying the game will that booth babe be included??? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

Will there be real time shadows in the pits? I have always wondered that. That would give you a good sense of "feel" for when you are rolling and diving while you are looking at your gauges and things like that. Having flown many times for real those shadows really do give you a good sense for which way is up and down when you are looking all over the place.

Seriously tho :can anyone tell me what the requirements of the PC will be to run this sim perfectly and be ready for the downloads that I assume will be following up the initial release...Could I buy now & get everything I'll need for this? I know a new PC is in my future, but need to know if now is the time or wait til this is released...Crazy Ivan...anyone???

The rule of thumb for me is to save up my money until the day a sim is published, wait for several sound reviews and then get a new comp. Preferably aim a bit higher than the "recommended" specs, with eye out for updating as the series progress.
I messed up with updating to PF, as I got an allmost but not quite obsolete mother board and a midlevel processor for that. I can run the merged sim OK, but far from perfect, and I'll make sure that doesn't happen again with SoW.

Judging from the last few FMs released for IL-2, yes.

As for the graphics, they are indeed stunning; but how much of this great art will we see in the plane spotting? That's where some ingenuity is really needed. If we can merely see what we OUGHT to see when looking at bogies against terrain, that to me would be worth the price of the box by itself, with no further modifications to the sim.

Going past that, as I said, the FMs need a bit of work. Get energy bleed right. Get acceleration right. Get rid of canned/pre-programmed stalls.

Do all that right, and the clouds will be an afterthought.

That`s why the only screens that interest me are those showing bogie view from cockpit against terrain at ranges -300m-700m-1800m-3000m-6000m.
If this gets fixed then IMO by all means the "revolution in flightsimming" declaration is legitimate.

Oleg and his team must introduce better FM because if we`re sentenced to fight Hurricanes and Spits in Emils we NEED those advantages the 109 really had.
Otherwise this aint gonna be no fun, being shot down repeatedly by either of them.
