Holy squirt, they look great!

Out of curiosity, why the red rimmed emblem on the P-63? That's a 1943 emblem. I think the standard 1944 emblem would be more appropriate. Just my opinion, though.

Looking GREAT, guys! A few nits with the P-63 - the upper wing insignia is on the wrong wing, The wing insignia are too small (should be 30" diameter ball, fuselage should be 25"),and the rear fuselage OD/NG demarcation line is misplaced. All minor stuff and not meant in a negative way.

Looking good Gib. Kudos to you and John. Have fun in Palm Springs as they look like they have a pretty good collection of aircraft.

Yep i agree with everyone here on the 1944 emblem. it just plan looks better. But the skin on the p-63 is awsome.
While we're on the subject that's one thing that has always anoyed me about FB. it uses the 1941/1942 Emblem by default. Any way wey might could ask Oleg to change this? Better question do you think he'd consider it?

Excellent .

Bavaria is one of the oldest European states.
It dates back to about 500 A.D., when the Roman Empire was overcome by the onslaught of Germanic tribes. According to a widespread theory, the Bavarian tribe had descended from the Romans who remained in the country, the original Celtic population and the Germanic invaders.

Well, you sure as hell picked one terrific artist to work with. John Wallin Liberto (Capt. Flushgarden) has been a revered member of the art community for a long time. I've been admiring his digital paintings along with thousands of others on some of the various art forums (Sijun.com, ConceptArt.org, et al) for years. Way to go, Gib & Capt. Flushgarden!!

I'm a crappy pilot, but one hell of a shot.

Wow! I had a look at John Wallin Liberto's website. Its amazing- seems like a fantastic person to work on IL2! I noticed his drawings of the Saabs- simply brilliant! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
The P63 is a beatiful aircraft- my first reaction on seeing it was "Wow!" The P38 'pit is also excellent- one of the best 'pits of the game. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif Thanks for the update /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I will make sure of it. I have a few pilot accounts (both trainer and student) of a exercise they did when training pilots to fly the P-38. They would lign up all behind the instrctor, and the instructor would tell the students to turn off and feather 1 engine. They did, and he had them play "fallow the leader" though acrobatics like loops, berral rolls, turning both in and out of the disabled engine to give the confadance in the flying ability of a P-38 with 1 engine. The students were all worried, but after the exercise and new confadance in the aircraft. The only thing it could NOT do on 1 engine was abort a landing. Once the flaps and gear were down, you better stick the landing. There is no possible way of recovering it once you commit to a landign with 1 engine.

At the start of WW2 the German army lacked experienced anti-aircraft gunners. The average gunner was so bad that the USSR decided to help them out. They did it by forcing some of their pilots to fly I-153 flak magnets. These planes were slow but very sturdy. This allowed German anti-aircraft gunners to get a large amount of target practice on a relatively small number of planes. Thanks to the Soviets help, by the end of the war the German anti-aircraft gunners were amoung the best in the world.</center>
