LOL = I am embarrased but trying to cover it up, churlishly irritated, or on the loosing end of an argument with nothing of substance to retort. (99% of the time someone writes this, they have not even cracked a smile let alone made noise laughing) God forbid they should type LMAO and raise the bar even furthur. And if they manage to get off a ROTFLMAO, then you can be sure they are cocky, arrogant, and mad.

IBTL = "I would like to jump over the fire and pad my post count at the same time, with nothing to add to the conversation"

How could you be? Do you have a wireless keyboard that you can tumble with down there to type that?

Lies, lies, and more lies.

I remember when "LOL" actually meant something. Now people just toss it around like bird seed.

Of course commie1 had to enter this thread. 50% of his posts are just "IBTL" with a smiley face so he was naturaly curious.

No coredless, I managed to drag the keyboard till the cord tugged tight, then it swung off my desk, hit my drink and I layed there rolling on the floor laughing my arse off as my coke ran out of the can... onto my carpet.

Which in turn ended up frying my keyboard from the impact where now only the g and u keys work on it so... uuuuu

Yes, don't u just hate it when people don't have respect for internet abbreviations!?!!

I remember when Deep Purple was hardrock. Today them kids call everything hardrock except Deep Purple who, according to them play some kinda weird pop.

I remember when a peach was a peach and not an nectarine.

I remember when I actually got to have sex with my fiancée once in a while.

I remember when seed was for birds and not for foxes. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Things were in general much more better before they got worse.

Maybe there should be smaller degrees of expressing humour.
It seems LOL is the present minimum and it seems that it's a lot for RBJ to take. How about

SQTM - Smile Quietly To Myself. (This is perfect for populated work spaces where LOL and ROFLMAO would be kinda disruptive)

GLAI - Grinned Like An Idiot. (Once again more acceptable at work provided they don't see you do it too often)

SOATG - Snorted Once And Then Grinned .......

/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

It's only funny til someone loses an eye....then it's hilarious

sorry but i really did

LOL

whilst reading this thread
and i was not covering up my emotional ******edness or anything ( i do things like lie and steal to cover that one)

also "ROFL" is very very rarely true

LMAO is never true as my friend works in casualty and has never seen anyone come in to have their *** grafted back onto their torso - and if they have they certainly weren't laughing /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
