Why is it neccesary to clear other targets like finding the flags and killing all Templars? In AC1?

I know the meaning of the view points and the sving of cevilians.

Are they just for fun?

And what is the sync bar update? What if it reaches 15/15. It just start counting again.

In the manual it says that Altair killed every Templar in the Holy Land and that he believed the land belonged to no-one and everyone (good man!), so it makes sense to have them.

I think they might because it has flags completed in different areas of the game. I'm pretty sure I had a full bar before I could even finish getting the flags.

both killing a templar and collecting a flag will restore the sync bar to its current max.

these vids shorten flag collecting time from ~14 hr to ~5 hr, which contribute to xbox achievements.

there is also another use for flags due to an exploit. here is an extreme example:

Collecting a flag will only make an Animus cutscene, no sync recovery.

I'm pretty sure flags do sync recovery, too, actually.

Nope, I just tested it. Maybe if you find all of a certain flag then it will but I'm not into collecting them.

I just did it, too. I was at two bars, I collected a flag (nowhere near the last one in a collection) and I was back at full health. That's weird. It's always done that for me. On the PC, too.

Oh no, that's not what I was talking about. did you ever notice that after you do an investigation for the first time another bar would appear underneath the synchronization? Inside of this were 15 collumns standing vertically next to one another. Each time you save a citizen, find a viewpoint, or do an investigation one of these collumns would light up. Once all fifteen were lit they would empty and a bar would be added to your synchronization.

AH! I see now. It does add to that, but only every 3 or 5 or so flags (dunno how many, but just not *every* flag or it'd be too easy to get a full sync bar.)

Exactly. I just noticed I've been snacking on Tictacs for two hours and feel rather sick.
