Hi!
As some of you know, I had some trouble with my machine the week before last, and had to send my PC back to the manufacturer. As it turned out, I needed a new MoBo, as the clamp points for the heat-synchs were loose. The AMD64 had protected itself from overheating by shutting itself down way before any heat damage had taken place. I watched my PC health status display the temp internal, (The AMD64 has its own internal sensor), and it actually shut down the instant that the temp increase began to accellerate, long before it reached the normal shut-down temp. So much for AMD's reputation for frying processors http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif. Systemax installed the new MoBo the day that they recieved it, and QC'd the machine for 48 hours, going over every single piece in my machine, including the peripherals that I added on. The tech even got my soundcard, which I thought had died, working again (apparently a driver issue). All of my data was preserved, and I never lost a single file! They paid for the return shipment, and honored their warranty by not charging me a dime. My machine got a nice cleaning, and was optimized for my hardware configuration. All in all, it was gone for less than a week, and that with all of our flooding here from Ivan (the storm). Here is a copy of the form letter that was returned to me, and signed by 2 techs, along with my machine:

I would recomend this company to anyone here. One more thing . . . this machine was put together by them as a test of the new AMD64 platform, and was more of a custom order than a prebuild, for those that do not like the "prebuild" type of machine. They can put together a gaming system for you as good as any out there, believe me!

Thank You Systemax! I'm now running FB at a cool 49C, internal.

YES!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Tiger Direct and Systemax were able to offer a limited number of the 3200+ processor, as they were supplied to them by AMD as a test-offer when the AMD64's were first released. Actually cost me less than one of the lower clocking P4's http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

A true test of any company is when you need to use the after sale service.

Glad they turned out tops for you tsisqua.

I use to get their catalouges. I always wondered about the Systemax rigs. I guess I'll have to get another cat.
Thanks, Tsisqua! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif and another bump
