For instance, in the beginning of my campaign I've selected Yak-3 starting from 1944, now I want to change it to Yak-9T. How can I do this? Thanks..

Find your main IL2, FB directory, like d:\program files\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles and find the following directory: missions -> campaign -> RU. Here you see a few normal award files and a few directories. One of those is named afer the campaign you started, including the name of your pilot. Open this folder and find the "conf.dat" open this with notepad or any texteditor and you will see the different campaigns within the campaign with the plane you chose behind it. Thats where you can edit those planes. I havent tested if this actually really works, but I think it does.

If you need names of planes you want to edit in, go to the Dgen directory and open *.DB files and scroll down.

Good luck! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Great advice Arnie, but you need to tell him about the fact that he needs to use the correct syntax DGEN names. Also, you can change planes right away instead of waiting for the next subcamapign to start. You do the same thing and go to the same folder but edit the status.dat file in notepad.
Find your current plane, then change the name to the new one and save it. You'll then fly one more mission in your old plane and then go the new one the next mission. Doing it like you told him would work, but if he had just started for example, the Balaton subcampaign, he'd have to wait a long time before that one ended and the Berlin subcampaign started. This way you can change planes in the middle of a subcampaign. Below I list the proper syntax names for the DGEN program:

Great advice, but here is a corrollary. Can you change planes between operations? It is easy to change planes in the pull down menu of the first operation of a campaing. But how do you change planes from the default for subsequent operations? Is there an in game procedure?

As long as this is a DGEN thread...Will it automatically 'upgrade' your squadron when the new variants are out? Like, if you start a campaign in a Bf-109E4, does DGEN move you to E-7s or F2s when the time is right?

Huggy - no. Once you have selected a follow-up of planes it's set uless you do the textfile editing stuff.

Tomislav - no. DGen only uses the planes you have selected before starting the campaign. There is not "auto upgrade".
