Last night I was wondering if we now had all the German aircraft in FB?PF that were available on Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe( it didn't take me long to figure out we do & every variety & more..)but this train of thought led me to more or less fond mems of WW-2 flight sims gone by...starting with Lucasarts Battle of Britain ,right thru to the WW-2 Flight sim I spent alot of time on previous to Il-2 Sturmovick,European Airwar. That got me wondering if any of you out there had screenies of aircraft from any or all or all of these now long gone by sims & if you would take the trouble to share them.It might be fun to see what we were dealing with before we got so spoiled by Oleg! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Well its not a WW2 sim but when I was a high school freshman back in 87' I used to think this was THE NUTS - Chuck Yeager Advanced Flight Trainer:

I can't tell you how many hours of homework got put off while listening to Duran Duran, sucking down jolt cola, and playing this! (of course now I still like Duran Duran (Notorious was hands down their best album), switched to Mountain Dew, and put off work to fly IL2...the more things change...) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I had a similar idea awhile back. I mentioned it to Woofiedog. My idea was to post screenies from other sims as a quiz. I have quite a few. The problem is finding time to reinstall all those games to make the screenies....

Started with a purchase of a Fairchild's Channel F system and the Red Baron Game as one of the cartridges... about 1979 and still runs fine.

Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe was the first flight sim I ever saw. My big sisters boyfriend had a copy and let me have a try. For three weeks I would "chaperone" my sister every time she went to his place. When they broke up I was devastated http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif

my first sim was sierra's Aces over the pacific...i think thats what it was called. The midi version of anchors away was cool, and it had a pretty efficient LSO in the corner to help you trap. It had an invasion of Japan section that was great, adn would make a great subj for a cmpn in this sim, wiht some adaptation.

Then aces over europe, which was so much fun.

Plus the manuals were second to none

MicroProse was the sim leader, then Dynamix...remember how they were supposed to be making a WWII sim in which you could actually change the design of some planes? I do...X Fighters if I recall, had a really cool promo on one of their sims as a bonus, but it was vaporware as it turned out

Now apparently Ubi Soft has the sim market leaders in its stable

The internet amazes me-
