Look, no offence, but you are a n00b in that domain, Oleg&co, can pass ALL your test in 10 minutes. Stop buzzing us!!!/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

ROFLMAO. You better improve if you wanna earn a living as a programmer.

Yeah it`s hard work - that`s why it gets payed. If you`re in it for the easy money, you`re just one of the guys the real programmers would like to kill - WE do the work YOU GUYS can`t do !

They teach programming with VB6 ? Might as well teach humility by using cattle prods.

Sorry gotta get on laughing.

We have a good project manager at work and what she does is... figures out how long a project will take by talking to the programers, the she doubles it and tells that to the client. works great since programers always tell you best case scenario ( no bugs, no unexpected problems, etc... ) which almost never happens

Ashrox, the sad thing is that VB doesn't even come near the complexity of C++ or whatever they're writing FB in. Really makes you appreciate the kind of work that goes into programming when you do it first hand hey?

Just goes to show that people will flame you, even if they agree with what you are saying. The poster came on here to say something complimantary about the developers. So what if he is a new guy? He is just starting his life, and because he sees how difficult this stuff really is has developed a greater appreciation for the work that Oleg's crew have accomplished.

Nice post, Ashrox. Yes, he is a genius. Hang around a while. Some of us are actually polite /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

edit: von zero, this guy never said sh!t about the patch. Why you taking it out on him?

You'r right, maybe I overreacted, but I was meaning about that type of controverses like "we want the patch/ No, Oleg there's no rush"

I think I've been a little rude....

Von Zero, You are a big man, Bro. I can't say that I don't know how you feel. See, Ashrox? These are good people. We are all having labor pains right now waiting for the patch.

Yeah. Double your worst estimate and convert to the next higher scale - it WORKS.

Lemme tell you one short story from my last employer to make clear my point.

1. Manager asks me how long it will take to do a significant software upgrade. I say, "5 workdays if it goes well, 10 if i get problems" (lots of sensible legacy code in that project...)

2. A55hole expert VB coder tells manager, "NO WAY HE NEEDS 5 DAYS ! I CAN DO IT IN 8 HOURS"

3. A44hole expert gets the go, comes in 3-4 times a day to ask me about how to do this and that in the database. I stupid jerk help him, along with doing my assigned work.

4. Manager comes to me after 5 days, tells me Mr. Expert won`t get done. So I take over his code, scratch all of it, and write it again.

5. I get done with "his" and my (new) project in 2 weeks working 60 hours a week.

Those are the reasons i HATE guys giving advice and expertice to programmers when they don`t have the SLIGHTEST idea what they`re talking about.

I got into an AP Programming class for next year where they teach C++. But the thing is that I don't deserve to be in that class. I guess I'm smart, but I'm a poor student. Last year I got mostly C's and a D. I think my math teacher has the hots for me because she was telling all the other teachers what a bright student I was even when I was doing horribly. Anyway, she coaxed me into taking this class and I'm scared now. Someone tell me that C++ isn't that hard. I don't care if you're lying. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
