fordfan go to the bottom of the page. You will see some very small blue text. If you look at it through a telescope you will see it's the links to the patchs.

I too just got BOE yesterday. I live in South Texas and it took about a week and a half. The frames are definately slower with the bombers.

I think it has a lot to be desired as far as extra skins, but tehre is an add-on skin pack out there that is AMAZING.

Airwarfare's BoE_PF patch is slightly out-of-date; get BoE4.0 (http://www.il2center.com/BoE4.0.zip) if you already have FB+PF merged. It has all of Starshoy's earlier BoE DGen campaign updates included.

If you are patched to v4.04m you do not yet have Ian Boys' very recent "DGen4043 upgrade" then you might find the BoE and DGen 4043 compilation zip (http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?download=2032) useful. The compilation is a sequential build of:
1. Files from BOEupdate_AEP, PF-BOE and BoE4.0 updates by Starshoy;
2. BOE night Hurricane skin update;
3. NW Europe DGen campaign by Ian Boys for pf_v402m;
4. DGen.exe 4.0.4.5 by Starshoy;
5. DGen_4043_Upgrade by Ian Boys;
6. "Italian_Pack" w/speech files, medals, background and skins;
7. "italian_pilots" pack by Elephant;
8. Ju-88 campaigns (beta) by Amagi.

Jumo's "Western Front DGen" BoE upgrade that is at Airwarfare.com is a nice addition to BoE but it isn't technically an update to the BoE campaigns. Jumo's package actually creates a parallel 'Western Europe' campaign that uses Eastern Front maps faked to represent D-Day, the Normandy campaign, etc. If you download Jumo's files here (http://www.netwings.org/library/Forgotten%5FBattles%5Fand%5FPacific%5FFighters/BoE%5FCampaigns/) you can get the skinpacks as well, which I don't think Airwarfare hosts. Some of the Jumo's skins are duplicates from BoE but there are many new skins that really need to be incorporated into BoE ... Starshoy's BoE updates BoE defer to the stock game's built-in default skins for the P-38, P-51B/C, Spitfires and all other aircraft released in AEP or later that have been retroactively written into BoE. A word of caution: The 'marked' and 'unmarked' skins in the .zip files at the site I linked have the same names so either version can be used in Jumo's campaigns. However, the 'marked' skins have national insignia and fuselage codes but the game adds the insignia decals anyhow. I suggest you stick with the 'unmarked' packages to play Jumo's campaigns.

Here's something esle for you to look out for: 402Fenrir says he is about to release a big, historically accurate update for BoE within two weeks. I don't know if it will have new skins or not. 402Fenrir has been working on this upgrade for several months I believe and he just passed it through a squadron of beta-testers for review. The new campaign files will link the NW Europe map into the sequence of operations. It will also give RAF pilots a full career.

Which one? They all just worked for me ...

The BoE4.0.zip update's full address is http://www.il2center.com/BoE4.0.zip

The compilation patch is at http://www.combatace.com/ under Files/IL-2 Sturmovik: Pacific Fighters/Campaign and Missions.

Jumo's Western Front DGen files are hosted at http://www.netwings.org/ and can be found under Downloads/Forgotten Battles and Pacific Fighters/BoE Campaigns.

I've had BOE for a few days now and its good fun.

It€s great to have a nice long Euro campaign for the P38.

so what exactly does the patch add?

Since BoE came out before Ace Expansion Pack, the first BoE update added some of the new AEP flyables to BoE, like the P-38 and P-51B for example. I believe it also added an Me-163 interceptor campaign. The most obvious benefit from the first patch was that it added files for an RAF campaign (for the new Spitfires in AEP) and included the RAF speech pack, portraits and medals needed for that. The RAF campaigns don't cover all of the maps that the parallel US campaigns that came with BoE do, so RAF campaigns are shorter.

The night skin update was a quick-fix to include a Hurricane skin that was forgotten in original BoE. You'd only know it was missing if you flew the night Hurricane single mission though.

After Pacific Fighters was released, Starshoy released another update to include some of the planes that are new in PF. That is the patch that is up at the Airwarfare link. After PF was upgraded to 4.01m he released the BoE4.0 patch that again updated the BoE campaigns for the new aircraft at the time. The BoE4.0.zip includes all of the prior BoE campaign updates but not the RAF speech packs, medals, portraits or any aircraft skins ... but then again you don't need the supporing RAF stuff if you have PF(m).

If you want the Tempest and Mosquito to be flyable in BoE campaigns, you'll still have to edit those in yourself. I included some edited BoE files in the compilation to use at your own risk. 402Fenrir's upcoming BoE update will probably do the same thing only better.

I have the merged install patched to 4.04m. I also got Ianboy's DGEN update when it came out. So I need to wait for Fenrir's update so I can fly the Mossie, Tempest, or new P-47 in BoE? I really don't want to edit them in myself even though some say it's not hard. I would rather wait on an update for BoE.

It works for me. I just clicked on the direct link I posted and it took me right to the page. Then I hit "Download from Server" at the bottom of the page. (Do you have an account with Combatace.com? You need to be logged in to download).

Perhaps the server was down for a while, I don't know. All I can tell you is that I'm able to download off of it and everytime I look at the page the number of downloads from it has increased.

-=Raz=- explains how to do the edits pretty well in this thread: http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bbs/ultimatebb....topic;f=144;t=003471 (http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bbs/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=144;t=003471) Admittedly, he doesn't include the boosted P-47D in the example, but that wouldn't be hard to research and add using -=Raz=-'s model.

I followed -=Raz=-'s instructions and they seemed to work, so I included the edits in the compilation.zip mentioned above. I put them in as separated alternate files so the user has to unzip another file and put them into their DGen folder himself. The undedited files are also included as a precautionary backup.
