In AC Project Legacy Francesco Vecellio assassinates Niccolo di Pitigliano only to be revived by the shroud which eventually kills him.

In the contents list of the AC Encyclopaedia underneath Italian Renaissance it lists all of the events that we have witnessed during Ezio's game-time, i.e. the execution (of his family), the confrontation with Rodrigo in the Vatican (with Rodrigo), etc. At the end of the list is the assassination of Niccolo di Pitigliano.

Despite other events in AC's history happening during the Italian Renaissance, such as Giovanni Borgia's trip to Mexico in 1519, Pitigliano's assassination is the final entry in 1510, one year after Ezio heads to Masyaf. I wonder if this event will have any bearing on Revelations and whether the shroud will be included in the game. Francesco took it from Pitigliano and it's wherabouts is not known between then until 1944.

Francesco was apprenticed to Ezio at this point so maybe it will be implemented into the Revelations story in some way.
