Been playing around with the Blitz, but would appreciate any bombing tips, best climb speeds etc.
Such a pretty little plane, and fast!

Learn how to dial in the numbers on the Stuvi dive bombing sight. It turns the Ar-234 into what amounts to a high speed precision dive bomber. Couple that extreme level of accuracy with the largeish bombs it can carry and you're golden.

Also don't forget about the twin MG151/20 cannons in the rear firing stinger. I've caught a few pilots unawares with that one http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks Icefire, I've been playing with the Stuvi. Its a great sight! 1st tried starting from 4000m & releasing at 2000m as Ive read the 234s did IRL. But have adjusted to 1500m or so to have more time to line up.
I seem to have trouble getting the 234 to altitude because of overheating problems. Probably being too impatient! Do you have any recommended climb speeds?

Probably 300kph or higher. Jets need the speed to keep them cool so I'd say focus on your speed and less on the climb angle...with props you can be a little more liberal with the climb angle but with the jets its best to keep the engines cool and sort of weave up and down to get maximum climb followed by a period where you build your speed.

Try and get as much altitude from takeoff with the rocket assist and then focus on speed from there.

Also, to avoid the over heating, don't keep it at 100% during your climb, I generally climb at about 94% power, and circle the home base till I get the altitude that I want.

Thanks guys!
I've been using trim instead of my stick to try & get that nice fast, shallow climb right.
I was going back & forth between 100% & 80 or 90 % power, so will give 94% a try.
The 234 is a fun little aircraft! (Wish we had the 4 engine version tho!)

Also, don't forget about Ar234 level bombsight http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

Hi Saburo_0

The Ar234B is included in Il2 Compare

http://war.by-airforce.com/downloads/il2compare-4.07.html

And the best climb speed is given as 450 km/h.

I have no idea where I gleaned the following from... My PC died over Christmas taking many documents with it, but these are the notes I'm left with:

Below 6000 rpm = SLOW Throttle
Taxi: 4000 (23%) to 6000 (43%)

Take off: 20 flap, 100% (hold brakes to 7000 (64%) then release) 220 km/h
Minimum one engine speed: 260 km/h

Climb: 8250 (90%)
Best climb: 450 km/h
Cruise: 8250 (90%)
7600 (75%)
7500 (70%)
7000 (65%)
Best at: 3,800m
Approach: (9%) 250 km/h
Vmax: 1000 km/h

For what it's worth...

OMK_Hand, Wow! Thank you just the kind of info I was looking for!
