I own 'The Ultimate Flight Collection' which includes 'IL-2: Sturmovik', 'Pacific Fighters', and Lock on'. I would like to know what is the differnce between this collection, beside 'Lock On', and 'IL-2 Stumovik: 1946'. The 'Pacific Fighters' disc will install FB+PF+AEP, so it says. If this is true, and I think I had asked about this on Ubi support and they answered that the disc does not actually install those games, then please tell me what patches I may need to have everything that 'IL-2 Sturmovik: 1942' has, except for the 'Exclusive "Making Of" video and interviews' and the 'Highly detailed 450-page plane guide.

The question that I had thought I asked to ubi support must have been with another user name. Today, my grandpa bought me 'IL-2 Sturmovik: 1942', so I thought that if I already have the games then I should return the game to exchange for another.

You need 1946 you don't have 46 in the UF collection - so no you can't return it if you want to play 1946.

You need to get IL2 1946 period. 46 has Forgotten Battles, The Aces Expansion Pack, Pacific Fighters, Pe-2, Sturmoviks over Manchuria and 46... all in one DVD. Considering that it is now $19.... at least in the U.S. (I don't know where you are located...) It is well worth it.

There is no IL-2 Sturmovik: 1942.

What theese gentleman want to say:
You don't need any of the other CDs.
Just install the '46 DVD your grandpa gave you and you will have all content ever released for this series.
The only patch that you need then is the one labeled "4.08".

Pacific Fighters will install as an addon to fb+aep.Or install as a standalone game.If you do not have both Forgotten Battles and AEP then you can only install as a standalone.

IL2 Sturmovik:1946 is the entire collection up to 4.07.(FB+AEP+Pacific Fighters+Pe-2+4.07)All you will need from there is the free 4.08 update.

Simplified:

"IL-2 1946" contains within an improved version of IL-2 Sturmovik, and also Pacific Fighters. It also has much, much more.

With "IL-2 1946" you can combine the planes and maps from Pacific Fighters, IL-2 Sturmovik (and four other titles plus interim upgrade patches) to create new scenarios. Furthermore, in 1946 you have many early jets and rocket planes that simply aren't available in the Ultimate Flight Collection pack.

You might keep UFC for the Lock-On game. Nothing in Lock-On is included on the 1946 DVD.

I wonder if Oleg had modelled the F-8 Crusader correctly??

Its undermodeled...be sure! But the F-100 has a bug in that it can climb to the moon in 2 minutes and 43 seconds but that will be fixed in the next patch.

Is that the "Mods vs. Rockers" one ftw?

IIRC the Lambretta is WAAAAYYY overmodelled and the Vespa GS 160 overheats too easily.

Then again the pier in Brighton looks fuzzy from ground level, but I bought the Clacton expansion pack and "Putt Putt over Margate" and it was pretty good. Another add on to consider is "Sawdust Caesars".
