Hey all quick question:

If you send contact reports to Bdu, do they actually send some for of support? I mean, if I radio in a convoy position, will the german navy or air force come and attack it?

I know the AI is very skilled and no-nonsence about sinking me when I got spotted or a merch calls for help. So my enemies have it, do the germans?

There is the possibility of friendly aircraft coming to a contact. As far as surface ships, I am not sure.

I think there is a 30% chance, minus environmental factors like darkness and fog and stuff, of friendly aircraft coming to attack a radioed contact.

Some in here say to call in convoys if you call in destoryer sightings they may send attack planes condors if they near German occupied land .. AND its clear weather I guess the developers wanted to model this after windows operating system series you just "discover" it but often we dont evenn know what is capable of being discoverd so it could be a 10 game but they happy with it being mediocore if ya buy a game nowadays dont have high speed internet and time .. lots of time to rather than enjoy game but to also spend equal time in the discussion boards then you may get a little bit of the potential out of the game..

Its nice to hear that reporting a contact actually does something. Does reporting youre at the patrol location do anything?

In theory, sending a patrol report is supposed to give possibilities of being reassigned to patrol another sector (if you've completed your assignment, have plenty of fuel and torps, and no action where you are), or being ordered to return to base (if you are low on fuel and torpedoes). In practice, the only think I ever got was "Keep up the good work".

All i get is Keep up the good work(if you have sunk sips) or be more aggresive(if you havent sunk any). But in the game manual, i see 2 other radio options that dont appear in the carrer mode.

"Request new orders"

"Escort to base"

Anyone seen these, or are they for the single missions ? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

Confirm,

those 2 orders are missing. I presume they come available only under some circumstances which i haven't met yet. PRESUME.

I did take a radio message signalling me a task force. But i was with IIA and low on fuel so i had to refuse.

Note : Forums hold pictures of Stukas bombing an allied convoy after the player signalled it to the Uboat command.

in Aces Of The Deep, some commands are only useful when in range to friendly harbour or airbase.

ex:reporting a contact would result in air attack if you send the radio report in range to a german airfield.
asking for an escort was only possible if in range to a german harbour...
and so on.

so i assume it's the same thing with SH3...unless they didn't had time to fully implement this.

The radio options "request escort" and "request new orders" are not in the game but they may add them in a patch
