No, its not the Thunderbolt. Online I have really developed a liking for the Heinkel He111-H6. It is quite fast, maneuvreable, well armed and can take a lot of punishment. A week or so ago, I took the He111 online, with the SC500 loadout. After (unsuccesfully) dropping the bombs, I noticed an La7 taking off from the airfield. I quickly turned and engaged the fighter. Once I was on his six, I switched to the nose gunner position. This allowed me to follow the plane with the joystick in my left hand and fire at it with the mouse in my right hand. Although he tried to twist and turn to escape, I managed to pursue him, succesfully hitting him with a few of the 20mm rounds. Unfortunately, someone had noticed that I was doing this and got on my six. After taking a few hits to the wing, my plane stalled and crashed into some trees /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif .
Also, in another server, my He111 succesfully avoided being shotdown for a very long time, despite being pursued by about five P11s. Eventually, however, I did crash. One of the enemy fighters summed it up well "Good job everyone. Took longer than it should have done" /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

To be able to fare well,
To avoid the frustration of misfortune,
That, in this world, is happiness.

Move the mouse to the bottom of the chat window, right click and drag it down as far as you wish.

Since when does the H6 have a 20mm?

The nose gun of the H6 is a 20mm

yes it is a 20mm cannon the H6 varient had them we should also have a gondola for a another 20mm cannon too.... we also have an mg17 in the tailcone which is good since few variants of the H6 had this.

personally i think we should have other varients of the HE-111 preferably the H-16 or other later varients, and itd be nice instead of 4 - 500kg bombs instead have one 2000kg bomb. Some varients could carry a single 2000kg bomb.

Is the tail gun player operatable or just AI ? If player, how ?

XyZspineZyX

it is AI in real life i dont know how the tail cone was operated but one was there in some h6 models. why i always fly the h6 cuz of the tailcone someone said it was a glitch from the bottom gun but the tailcone gun is real.

Online fighter missions in an Il-2 can be quite fun too. You got the rear gunner to take care of newbies on your six, and with a bit of luck those forward firing guns can be a nasty surprise for anyone engaged in a slow furball. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

But no one except the foolhardy will engage an Il2 at slow speeds/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Nope, but you can still surprise the unwary. Most people just believe you're on a bomber mission and expect you to run ...
