Hi,

I am looking fo pictures and serials of the following aircraft:

P-51d HO-E "The Sheepherder" flown by Capt. Alex F. Sears
P-51d HO-P "The Margarets" flown by Capt. Henry M. Stewart
P-51d HO-K "Kay III" flown by Capt. Sanford Moats
P-51d HO-L "The Hawk-Eye-Owen" flown by Lt. Dean Huston
P-51d HO-D "Twyla Sue" flown by Lt. Walter G. Diamond
P-51d HO-J "Peanuts" flown by Lt. Nelson R. Jessup
P-51d HO-S "Sweet Fern" flown by Lt. William C. Miller

I'd like this information for making a complete set of skins, so any help is appreciated.

Serval,

P-51d HO-E "The Sheepherder" flown by Cpt. Sears had a serial number of 44-14778.

P-51d HO-P "The Margarets" flown by Cpt. Stewart had a serial number of 44-14716.

P-51d HO-K "KayIII" flown by Cpt. Moats had a serial number of 44-14848.

P-51d HO-L "The Hawk-Eye-Owen" flown by Lt. Huston had a serial number of 44-14801.

P-51d HO-D "Twyla Sue" flown by Lt. Diamond had a serial number of 44-11335. The "D" in HO-D of this aircraft carried an underscore beneath it as it was the second HO-D of that series.

P-51d HO-J "Peanuts" flown by Lt. Jesup had a serial number of 44-14475.

P-51d HO-S "Sweet Fern" flown by Lt. Miller had a serial number of 44-14812.

The book is now out of print, although copies are occasionally available on E-Bay (they sell dearly, though). It is chock full of photographs of many of the 352nd fighters, from P-47s through the 51d. I didn't take time to track down each of your requests, but I know that at least *some* of them are represented in the book.

Perhaps your local library has a copy?

Hope this helps.

Here's a very informative site on Serial Numbers:

Airplane Serial Numbers (http://home.att.net/~jbaugher/usafserials.html)

And here's probably one of the informative sites about the 352nd, including links at the bottom of the page. Also, of course, you can click on Persecutor's sig as well. I'm betting that click leads to all you wanted to know about the 352nd, but didn't know who to ask. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Good luck finding good pics of the planes you are looking to skin. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

A quick Google image search brought up this:
