View Full Version : On-line lobbies and game browsers - is ASE the best?

I was surprised how versatile ASE is, how easy to seach for games with different settings/versions. It was also a stunningly simple, no-hassle process to register a new server.

This was in stark contrast to the unreliability (mainly UBI), the limited search functions (mainly HL) and the complicated dedicated server launching process (both ubi and HL).

Hence the question: have you tried ASE before? If so, what is your opinion?

Besides that, I heard about another on-line connection utility called il2connect, but all the pages I found for it were in Russian. Any more info on this would be appreciated too.

EDIT: ASE = All-Seeing Eye, http://www.udpsoft.com

Really no "All-Seeing Eye" users linger here?

Well, i agree. I've used ASE for years (before IL-2FB i was into Return to Castle Wolfenstein). Never tried UBI, but HL hogs way too much resources imo, and im used to ASE so no reason to change for me. And i like the filter functions http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I do use ASE quite often, but never to fly any sim. I usually play FPS games through ASE: COD2, Counter Strike, etc...As for combat flight sims, HL is still the best software out there.

ASE is the best - I have used it since it came out - flexible and easy to use - great if you play multiple games.
