Can someone tell me what that green dot instrument in the He 111 does.

I think its some early version of an ILS.

seems like your home base shows as a second green dot when you are close so it is some sort of NAV aid

Blind Approach Indicator: When near an airfield this instrument will activate it is a basic ILS system that is used today. Using the two green dots that flash back and forth from the middle to a a certain spot showing the runway line up. When the 2nd dot is flashing under the middle one you are lined up with the runway.
