Price of Persia was an awesome series, but one thing that it really lacked was the inability to continue playing the game after you complete the story.

I really want to stress this: After the story is completed in Assassin's Creed, please let us Free Roam! Do not end the game after we beat the story! Please!

PoP wasn't made for free-roaming. It could work with AC though, but it'd depend on the ending.

they probably won't because there are side missions and games that have side missions usally don't end, they normally let you keep playing. But who knows

OMG that would be cool but what would you do?

Who cares what you would do? Kill people! Steal money! Build trust with the crowd or whatever!

What do you do in GTA games after you completed everything? You go and mess around! The same thing should be in Assassin's Creed!

Don't you wish that in Prince of Persia you could go back and fight some guards just for fun? That was the most disappointing thing about that game for me.

Please Jade, put this in the game! (L)

im gonna do something rather uncalled for if you cant run around and kill people after you're done http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

OMG he is going to on a rampage where he starts streaking and screaming with a gun in his hand but then they just shoot him down.

Free roam after game is finished!
Wow, I've never thought of that. There is side missions, though. I hope so...

This was a question? I thought that for sure they would do that. If you can't do all the things after you finish the main quest I will be very dissapointed.

personally i hope they close you off at the end. if he's just assassinated a bunch of high value targets why would he poke his head out to help farmer bob kill the rats in his basement?

Practical and safe! Knifewrench, for kids! But... don't slice yourself putting it down.

But yeah, I also thought that free-roaming after the story was pretty much guaranteed. The only freeroaming game without freeroaming after it ends I've ever seen are the Zelda games, and they're pretty limited in how much you can really do in the first place (not so many sidequests, a more linear story, etc.).

i cant believe you said that...http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

go back and play through them again...

I highly support this. I would like to live in a virtual world with freedom as long as I can from a good game.

Though having said that, it is said the mission can be done in different styles, so I guess replaying them it's not that bad as well.

I don't think the game will continue after the end, simply because the side missions are there to build you a reputation to help you when are being chasing, but since the assassinations are over, there is no longer a need for the side missions, just my thought.

Because of the side missions, i predict it will be like oblivion, when you finish the game, you can do whatever, go kill everyone in every city for example, like i did in oblivion http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I thought it WAS a free roamer and you could just complete the assassinations in your own time. If I'm wrong that kinda takes a lot of the appeal away for me...

Well, the people died at a certain time in history, so you wouldn't be able to kill the main guys whenever, right? (I read or watched that somewhere)

But supposing there's no day/night cycle...

I'd prefer to have a free-roaming game, but you could trigger "missions" by performing a certain action, which would then start the scripted assassination...

I dunno, I always imagined having fun just free-running all over the cities in my own time.

day and night should at least have effects on people, but it would be great to simply change the time like in ultimate spider-man
but it also would be cool to be able to replay favorite missions
i really hate it to have 20 saves for each prince of persia game

yeh, it would be a lot easier to carry on rather than have a few different saves, but it all depends on what happens at the end. for example, if it ends with some dialogue or maybe action with the descendant of altair then he wouldnt plug himself back into the machine again. I think that it might end with some sort of cliffhanger refering to the second game, which would mean that the second one would probably continue where this one left off, and therefore i dont think that it will continue. You could just have a few saves and replay the assassinations differently.

I don't see why Ubi would end the game after the story, but I am still concerned that they might be doing a POP experience but with a little more freedom. I hope that is not the case.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/agreepost.gif I thought you already could do that. If you don't have to do the missions straight away and you can mess around, why couldn't you? That would be dumb if you couldn't. I think you can. If you can't then I would just go CRAZY!!!!

I must admit that I have somehow got the impression you can roam around after all the missions are over.

But looking back, there is no official word to confirm that, in fact, they have suggested a few times about game play hours, with no special mentions about "free time" like Oblivion did. This makes it more likely that it does not have free time after all the missions are over.

This put me off a little bit.

i hope it won't be like The Darkness was where if you dont do the side quests and get the achivement you have to do the whole game over since the game ends after the story, which could still have gone on with the ending (ending sucked)

Ya I say you will be able to free roam during and after the game. That the whole point of the game design, to let you go where you want. and Jade said that you can in This interview (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/19906.html) that starting at 2:30 se says that you can go anywhere even if its not part of your mission. so there will be free-roam.

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gifFree Roam would be great in a game like assassins creed.

If there is no free roam in this game then after the campaign there will be nothing to do!
Hope they make it like GTA so you can do what ever after the missions. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

We know there will be free roam. But the point of this topic is to have free roam after the missions are completed. Like PoP for example. Yes I know the game wasn't ment to be free roam, but don't you think it would have been cool if you could at least go back and fight some people after the game is over? I mean, I don't want to start Assassin's Creed over after I beat the game, and that is the focus of this topic. To let us be free after the missions are complete.

no, i hink the devs understand that the only reason we want the game is to jump around and climb for all eternity (and stab innocent bystanders http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif). so i think that they will make time move normally once you finish the game, and that side missions will still be available, but not as before. maybe something like in ultimate spidey...you're just walking through then you help someone, but it has no effect on the population whatsoever.

bump2007

If the point of the game was to jump around and climb stuff, without missions, I'd still buy the game!

I think it will be like the spider-man games, after you do all the main missions there are just loads of side missions.

It might be cool if there was a reward for getting 100% completion as well. Like in GTA. I don't know what they would do, but it would be fun.
