In the difficulty settings do you have "air start" or something along those lines ticked. Double check that.

You can force the mission to start you in the air regardless of the mission design through that setting.

in mission builder place a carrier and give it a waypoint. then place a plane next to the carrier , go to the waypoint tab, set it to take off, click the set button and click the carrier... done .. carrier start.

That is, you'll need to bind a key to chocks in Controls page...also one for wing-extending, and one for cockpit canopy open and close. It's all in the manual.
Enjoy.

Startwaypoints want always go for a near landbase (it is like it is) , if that happend, just bring the startwaypoint via mouse back to the carrier http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I don't understand why vital controls in the game are not key binded in the game from default. I'd also like to have a good GUI for the config options instead of direct text messing with the conf.ini file. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

sometimes we deduct that it is what it is and this is it but then you start doubting yourself and wonder if it really is it.In this case it is it and there is nothing we can do about it.

Okay. I'm just plain stupid. In MB, placed the Intrepid right in the center of the map. Gave her a waypoint. Then I created a F6F right next to her. In the WAYPOINT tab for the F6F, selected Takeoff option. Clicked SET, then the Intrepid. SHould start on the deck, right?

Cause for whatever reason, I start at deck level just to the left of the flight deck, drop down to the waves, and watch my carrier sail on her merry way. Tried moving the startwaypoint right over the deck, saved and played. BOOM! Intrepid is running me over.

What am I missing? Appreciate any feedback on this.

you did not in the end click on the carrier deck to confirm point of take off .Do so and you will get the usual green circle confirming same.Dont forget to remove schocks before take off.

Zoom right in and place the plane on the deck of the carrier.

Waypoint is takeoff... then the icon changes to a green circle (gunsite kind of thingy!) click this on the carrier to set the target of the takeoff waypoint to be the carrier.

The extreme time difference between my last and this post should tell it all - FIGURED IT OUT! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Wasn't putting the reticle on top of the name of the carrier.

Oh the joys of it all. This game rocks!

Thanks to aminx, Waldo, Tater, and everyone else for the assistance with my stupidity. Hey aminx. Anything I can do to help with the torp-bomber lobbying?

Just keeping my fingers crossed about the prom ised add-ons. For now, the A20 is a go-between.
