This thread is for those who are still itching to get their hands on PF...

I am seeing a lot of people lusting over the chance to use the B25 in combat. I am too, but I must say I am kinda surprised because somehow I thought I was a little wierd in that regard. The Mitchell Gunship (B25H) is what I really wanna try out... 8 forward guns, 75mm flying artillery, rockets, bombs, parafrags, all-round .50 coverage... This thing is gonna be sweet.

But I thought everyone was gonna be wanting the Corsair the most... the C with the quad 20's in particular.

So I'm curious, in an informal poll here I'd like to know what plane you guys are looking forward to strapping on the most?

Unless I'm mistaken, the B-25J is the only flyable Mitchell we get. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

It sounds cliche, but I'm looking forward to flying most everything in PF.

The B-25J,A-20G,F4U,and H-81/P-40B/C plus anything Grumman are all notable mentions though. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

first thing I do is take a F4F off from a CVE and turn around to try to land. Second thing I do is take a P400 up against a bunch of Ki43s.

Hellcat definetly. I'm also looking forward to testing the reputations of alot of the planes, like seeing if the brewster really is a deathtrap. I'm also looking forward to trying out the Ki 61.

I'm also looking forward to trying to land non carrier aircraft on carriers(and taking off) A kikka skinned 262 will be my first try.

True, but unless I'm mistaken more are on the way.

Are there? I had heard not enough references could be found, but maybe things have changed.

I certainly would love to see some Mitchell gunships flyable.

Awe, complete suckage! You're right. I must have read a bad "flyables" list somewhere.

Sigh.

Well, the J will still be kinda fun, especially if the bombsight is reasonably accurate.

Man, I really hope they get the B25 gunship in on a patch soon!

I know this may sound like double talk, but I look forward to discovering aircraft I never dreamed I'd like to use in this game like the IL-2 and the TB-3 and some of the old biplanes.

The old August flyables list had four different versions of the Navy/Marines PBJ Mitchell in it. That can't be bad news for the future. Except for Japanese shipping, that is...

Ok, that's prolly where I saw it... I really really hope they get the H in on an early expansion patch!

Are you listening Maddox guys?

Beaufighter and the hellcat... Not sure why really... but those two seem really appealing.

I will said Ki-43 but I think A-20 should be a very interesting plane to fly it in coop/offline campaign. Online plane should be Ki-43 as it may be so fun to dance with other players.

Is Ki~43 crapp plane? Yes? No? Maybe? Link below says it was "transition" between crapp planes and total NOOB planes, alot like Hurricane was "transition" between crapp planes and complete NOOB planes.

quote:
In many ways, it was a transitional type, bridging the gap between the lightly-loaded fighter monoplanes of the late 1930s with their fixed undercarriages and open cockpits and the higher-powered heavy fighters of the early 1940s with their retractable undercarriages and enclosed cockpits

I was looking forward to flying the KNIL Brewster B339D, but only the F2A-2 is in PF, and only as AI http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif. Hopefully, the patch will make it flyable, and add other Buff variants. Until then, I will continue with the B-239......... in KNIL colours of course!

I own the game already and can say that flying the Wildcat, the Tomahawk and the Ki-43 makes most fun when fighting against other fighter planes.

I like the Corsair for strafing.
