View Full Version : == SLI and FB/AE/PF ==

Could someone who already has SLI please give me the straight scoop? I'm about to order my second 6800GT to make my rig SLI. I know some of the other games I play will benefit (COD2 DOW-WH40K etc.). But PF is my main love and I know that there were some bad issues with PF when sly first came out.

The way I see it there are three possible outcomes of SLI and PF

1) It doesn't work or makes the game unplayable because of graphics issues.

2) It works but there are no speed/FPS gains

3) It works and there are speed gains

Just as an FYI here are my system specs.

ASUS a8n SLI delux mobo
AMD-64 +4000
1Gb Ram (soon to be 2)
1 6800GT (soon to be 2)
2WD SATA 10K Raptors in RAID 0

Thanks in advance all you SLI early adopters out there!

Two months ago I got a new computer with dual 7800gtx's. It works like a champ. There was one issue with the cards displaying a "balancing bar" on screen, but someone told me how to shut it off (a matter of simply unclicking one box http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif) . If you have the same issue I can help.

Hi I've been running an SLI rig for a couple of months now.
Asus A8n Deluxe, AMD-57, 2x7800gtx's with 2gig ram. with a SATA 74 Gig 10,000 rpm hard drive.
First off
Welcome aboard http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
SLI is supported but you will have to set it up.
I am running Nhancer programme to do this.
Now don't think you can now go and turn everything up to the max and this game will look beautiful and error free.
Because just like with a single card you will have to set up all your card features and alter config. ini files to suit
Depending on which theatre you fly will also alter your systems performance.
If you fly over water predominantly. You will be able to utilize Water=3 or 4 in the config files and with other settings lower can get lovely flying in PF.
However if you do low level over land (I do)
Framerates will suffer considerably if you try to run water=3 or 4 whilst trying to enhance your land settings.
Lots of experimentation is required to obtain a satisfactory result.
BTW Framerates overall aren't all that much changed from a single card but you do have more access to higher levels of Render(Prettier pictures)
I am still in the process of trying to find something that completely satisfies my preferences. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif
