One simple question to all of you who play the campaigns.
How can you wait for 20 minutes (for example) till you get at the target area?
Isn't it boring flying a campaign, mission-by-mission and waiting all tihs time till you see action?

All the times I tried to start a campaign I stopped it within the first couple of missions and I would really like to know how you can stand this wait.

Thank you for your replies http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Depends on the mood I'm in, sometimes I dont like flying that long at all. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Sometimes I enjoy the pretty graphics and enjoy trying to stay in formation. Which is a good practise as well. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Just play some music on the background and have a very relaxing time. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

But I mostly only play campaigns with short missions, that is with a max of 70/80 kilometers of flying to do. Otherwise it is indeed too long for me. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
But in PF there's now the option to skip to the next waypoint, works quite well it seems and saves time. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Some PF missions are really long as well, so its a good addition.

its called autopilot...

i love playing single player missions because that 20 minutes gives me time to do stuff. like cook dinner, do dishes, work out, do bills, etc.
i just turn my volume way up and when i hear my wingman start to yell a bunch of stuff in german/russain i know its time to come back to the computer for fun :-)

For me it`s all part of the experience and my love of flight simming, but I don`t do it all the time (I simply don`t have the time).

My routine.

1. Very first mission I always fly the whole thing, getting there, fight, getting back.

2. 2nd and subsequent missions, I`ll take off, use auto pilot if a VERY LONG journey and sit back till I get near the location or pass enemy lines. After battle I`ll fly manually to friend base/ lines then hit autopilot. Near base I`ll usually land manually, cos I enjoy it and it completes a mission nicely.

3. Every now and then I`ll fly a full manual mission just for the views, especially if oversea by the coast or over an impressive city, like Leningrad.

But fear not, you impatient ones! Because PF will come with a special super speed accelerated autopilot that will take you almost immediately to the target area.

So everyone`s happy.

Some folks like me will configure campaign missions with short flight distances.
