View Full Version : My graphics settings will not save

I have everything updated my drivers and everything. Every time I exit the game my graphics options will not save a revert back to defaults.


I have a 570gtx and a q9450 oc to 3.0ghz.

Any fix for this, is this even a bug ubisoft realizes?

I have the steam version

I'm having the same issues on Steam version.
It keeps reseting.
PC specs
core i7 840QM 1.86ghz
Ati HD 5870m 8gb ram
Win7 ultimate 64

Have you all tried playing the game/game's exe (ACBSP.exe) under 'Windows XP SP2 Compatibility Mode' ? Not fully sure, but doing this has helped out a few gamers regarding the saving process. Just try, and see if this helps you or not ?

Have you also given full ADMIN rights to the Game/Game's .Exe ? Does your Windows UserName contain any SPECIAL characters ?

No special characters, playing as admin and I even tried saving the changes with full administration mode, no changes.

I also own AC 1 and 2 and they don't have this issue i'm experiencing with brotherhood.

Ok tried them all, also modifying the values on the .ini file, reset keeps happening as soon as I start the game.

Ok I also noticed that switching from single to multiplayer also resets the graphic settings back to medium.

Ok, can you and Others try doing a FRESH reinstall of the full game again ?

Try reinstalling it, but this time select a NEW and a different Hard drive partition/folder, if possible. Make a backup of your Saved Games first, just in case.

A guy did a Fresh reinstall of the game, as well as a Clean Format of his OS, and after doing all this he was able to SAVE the in-game Graphic Settings, as told by him. But you may first try reinstalling/patching the game again, and see if this solves your problem or not ? Have you applied the latest PATCH i.e. 1.02 ?

I don't think that's possible since the folder is inside the steam folder.

Are you asking about how to go for a fresh reinstall ? Actually I gave that suggestion with respect to the RETAIL version of any game.

Im working with TECH SUPPORT but if that fails i will re install the game.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one experiencing this kind of problem but it's not nice to have this kind of problem.

Anyway, I have already contacted Ubisoft support but still they can't provide a specific fix. Tried reinstalling, changing compatability etc.

I have already tried reformatting but it DOES NOT really fix the problem. The problem would resume after few gameplays.

Not only I experience this in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, I experience this also in Assassin's Creed 2 but not in Assassin's Creed 1.

I am just wondering, whenever you exit the game, does it exit fully, like when you exit do you get a 'brotherhood has stopped responding' message

Update: Following the instruction to move the steam folder from program files corrupted it and now I got to install everything again.

every single assassins creed Ive had does the same thing. This people don't know how to make a proper PC game it seams. Cause they don't fix the problem.
