At GameFAQs.com it's stated that this will be released on 7/29/03. Anyone know about this? It's news to me. Is this the update perhaps?

Its actually a third party product and quite a good one, originally designed for IL2 and approved by Oleg but not connected with him.

Unlike the rip-off "Eastern Thunder" which had very little in it "Barbarossa" is probably worth the money ... if you are a dedicated offline player, but a waste of time if you aer an onlione dogfight freak.

Barbarossa was originally free but was so popular the downloads were costing the developers a fortune so they went commercial with it.

Leadspitter is correct you could design your own missions in FMB but by the time you researched the history of the Eastern Front and put together the 300 od historically accurate missions I suspect you would have invested about 500 to 1000 hours of your time. Even at my measley pay rate that is $20,000 I prefer to pay the money for the one in the box.
