Has anyone here ever played it? If so, post here. I have some news on upcoming developments.
I am currently speaking with the developer every day(who's a friend of mine), and I am currently building some custom patrol missions for an upcoming patch, and for ERT 2. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

THere have been a few patches which improve the game.

WE are currently working on "Chapter 2" of the game now. I am glad to be a part of the team.

Check out the game. I love it.

I used to play it. The campaigns were excellent, very tactical and really tough to complete in places. The best fun of course is getting to depth charge subs for a change, plus the huge fleet surface battles.

This "patch" though has been on the cards for months, if not years, and there are perfectly adequate Enigma NoCd files to download for free if you want them, no need to pay $10

Not only that...

New campaign
no more Starforce
Modding Tools
skins, players, etc...
Patrol Mission Pack with new patrols designed by me.

more to come...

I loved Enigma. I rememebr it came out before SHII I and at the time there was nothing like it, specially when riding the waves on stormy weather. I haven't played it for years, but it was a lot more accessible than SH. And the torpedo boats were a blast! The only thing missing was the brilliant free camera from SH. If you guys put that in, you'll have a winner.

Looking forward to a new release. Thanks for the news!

Done.
I spoke to East, and he said it was already in there. He just has to enable it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hi

I played it and there are some tough missions in it. Some are easy some are really bad. There is a website for it offering suggestions to get you past tough spots.

Found some ship design choices very odd (to put it mildly). The Brits and their Japanese Allies got rather modern ships while the germans got designs which were already outdated when WW1 started. Secondly the campaign missions were not just hard - they were frustrating. But that's just me, possibly ...

This is a pre-announcement, the micro-add-on for Enigma: Rising Tide GOLD edition is going to be available for pre-order for Halloween; a week sooner if the certificate and site are completed in time.

--- Features ------------------

STARFORCE REMOVED
Disk Check Removed

2 NEW CAMPAIGNS
these are a sideline to the main story that preview a feature coming to Enigma 2.
based on the writers competition story by award winning writer Jay Lake: "A Night at the Hotel Da-Volta"

MOD Tool:
- Mission Builder (patrols and campaigns)
- Packager
- Voice Response Editor
- Ship and Weapon Editor

Some minor tweaks to ocean, sky, some vehicle and weapons textures.

--- RELEASE ------------------

It looks like the add-on will be $10. Because this release removes all copy protection, Resurgent has set a pre-order number that we need to hit before the add-on is released in order to cover the costs of development (which they are paying). The new website will track the progress to release. It is expected to be completed and ready for release around Thanksgiving (3rd week of November for the non-Yanks).

I'll answer any questions I can in this thread.

Some chat from today....

Monterey: If ERT2 goes well, I expect to see some flyables in ERT 3. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
East: I expect we'll have at least 1 flyable in ERT2
East: are you familiar with Shockwave productions?
Monterey: make it a torpedo bomber
Monterey: yes
East: we're talking with them about using their flight model (Battle of Britain) and aircraft models
East: Swordfish will likely be the only one
Monterey: kewl
Monterey: I wish you and Oleg Maddox would get together, but I don't ever see that happening
East: I've talked with him a few times...
Monterey: If the 2 were merged together somehow, I'd be in sim heaven...lol

Well, I have now purchased BoB WoV 2, so that I can check out their flight models.
