How do you move up in ranks? What is the game looking for?

Also, where can I find the rank and the details of each.. I looked in the book, but it does not describe these...

thank you..

Welcome to the boards http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

IIRC it works like this:

-Rank advancements come with succesfully completed missions / points.

-Medals come with air/ground kills.

Getting many kills, but never completing a mission will get you lots of medals, but hardly a promotion.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Hauptmann would be similar to a Captain in the USAAF or a flight Lieutenant in the RAF.
Your next promotion should be to Major and then Oberstleutnant. Either one of these ranks can put you in charge of the whole flight depending on how many AC there are.

If you want to run the whole squadron, there a trick that many players overlook, and it's dead easy but not really explained in the manual

In campaign mode, most folks don't realise that not only can you choose your starting rank on the campaign menu, but in many campaigns, you can change the aircraft you fly, right from the menu! If you click the airplane type in the campaign window, many times it becomes a pull-down menu http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

You select different planes for different sections of the campaign before you start it as well. Like C_O said, when you get a list of the different planes for different sections, if you click on the name of the plane, you get a drop down list to choose from. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I think that the points system may also depend on difficulty settings.

Huh, if you are doing this like me, frop-top-towards-bottm, you should remember to click the first section once more after you made your assignments but before you start the campaign. Otherwise you will begin the campagn with the last section only.
