Hello

Im not a very vocal member of the Il2 community, but I have seen this sim grow and mature, from its very beginning.

One of the most outspoken members of said community was(Or is) Ilya Shevchenko, alias Luthier, who was the original founder of Il2center, He helped Oleg to organize the modelers, and made himself the Bi-1, I-16, and the "flying barn" TB3, he was very involved, he even wento Moscow and met with Oleg.

The last time (April 30) he made a promising anouncement, he saidto be working on a special add on for Forgotten Battles "The Winter war", and was also recruiting voice actors for a Brit-pack.

A short time later his site was hacked and has not been changed till this day,
Modelers still meet there to discus and show upcoming proyects in the Forum.

But there was no announcement of him retiring, nothing, nada, the guy just vanished like Antoine de Saint Euxperys P-38.

So its kinda eerie.

Maybe he had enough of evrything "the hackers" (Maybe he went out to hunt them..??), a real life that demanded more time, Maybe he got a terrible disease, Maybe there is a skeleton lying in front of a PC somewhere. Maybe he had troubles with 1C and UBI, or was taken away by little green men, or took the red pill.

Well enough fiction.

Does anybody out there have any clue about what really happened to the guy??????? (Maybe Starshoy)

Its just strange as if somebody you did know, had been swallowed by earth.

Well if not, then just hope he is alive and well.

Regards

Hunger.

It is a little strange...I just assumed he's trying to sort out all of the hacking woes against IL2Center.com. Or maybe just vigorously working on the new project. I dunno....

Didn't you know? Luthier has left the Matrix. He's the chosen one /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I read of Luthiers 'disappearance' from the community a while back, but never heard anything more. Hopefully we'll hear from him soon.

Luthier is being mobbed by scantily clad females, which does take precedence over Il-2.
However this will eventually lead to a flyable MiG-15, so who are we to complain.

Shows the direction this board is going when such an important question only gets 5 posts and slips off the front page while "where is the patch dipsticks!" makes it's way to 4 pages.

The disappearance of Luthier is troubling, i hope he's ok.

I agree with R_Mutt. This is much more important than a lot of what gets more airplay on this board.

Please Luthier, let us know you alive. We miss you and your input to IL-2/FB.

I didnt contact him personally, but I know people who did so. I can assure you, he is alive and well, and sadly not being pursued by scantly clad women (such are very scarce in the US /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif ). I dont know what he has in store for the community, but I am pretty confident he has not been idle....

I've been wondering since the "Winter War" announcement.

I've always appreciated his work, being the particular 3D models, the nice campaigns, or his commitment in organizing the modelers' community. I even contributed a little bit when he asked what Gibbage is asking for right now. I've actually been sort of worried and pi**ed off in the same time, for his disappearance.
I'm glad to finally know everything is fine with him.

I think and hope that AntEater knows more than what he wants us to believe... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Ham or Starshoy should be able to get you quick answers or maybe CSThor. I'll e-mail Luthier in a bit and see if I get a response. I know he was very, very busy with work.

Man, that is strange. It is one of those things that when it is brought to your attention you say to yourself, "how did I not realize this." I just hope everything is ok.

Is Smoke Jaguar still around? He used to post something almost daily, then nothing.

It'd be like removing graffiti from a wall Demolisher. These bogans just turn up and do it again. It's sad that some spotty little git (supposedly in Portugal) hasn't got anything better to do than annoy others by demonstrating his lack of spelling ability.

As long as Luthier's alive and well, that's the main thing. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

There must be at least one forum member with the skill to end this hackers fun.One thing I have learned in my years is that no matter how good you think you are there is always someone better,I think this applys to hackers as well /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

U boys need to get out more.

Have you ever had one of those moment in life when you are just commited to a new work? Perhaps short of cash?
Or one of those times when a relative gets ill and you need to be there, maybe your close family?
Or do you remember when you fell in love and even your close friends didn't see you enough?
Or when you got married or u were going to and then there is no time for nothing?
Or when playing Il2FB was so absorving that you wish underwear was self-washable? :-)

I hope you get my drift...

Life can be demanding when you least expected.

Also, maybe he tried changing the hacked page and the B***rd hacker just go back to it. I doubt Luthier is a know-all webmaster.

If people says he is well, that is enough. If he can't do anything for the community, I don't care. He has done lots. As long as he is doing fine and he is strong, I am happy.

BTW...you will be erased soon enough. you ask too much. 8)

I posted about that a month ago here but i got no response at all. I used to visit luthier´s page regularly cause he always had some nice stuff there but the page hasn´t been changed for a loooooooooooooooooong time now. just look at the planes lists there. they are still pre FB release.I wondered too where he is but no one said anything.

If someone says he's allright that's comforting, but I think it's only showing concern to ask these questions about his disapparance from the community.

Hope Luthier's well and is coming back to us with a heck of a surprise. Maybee he has modelled the entire RAF for us!!!

I don't blame Luthier at all from taking a leave of absence from the Internet. I never did truly expect to get a response from him by email. (I sent him a question once about a modeling project.)
