First off let me offer my thanks to you and your team for this game which has given me hours of challenge and enjoyment
I have a request that you might like to consider:
That the smoke from destroyed units might linger a little longer and that dust trails can be made by moving ground unitsboth these changes would make spotting much easier
I would personally prefer this to any new aircraft I doubt I will have the time to experience all the options in aircraft in my lifetime

The subject of persistent smoke goes back a long way. Some kinds of smoke, those caused by airplane crashes, do linger whereas originally they had a short lifespan. Other kinds of smoke like that caused by blowing up something on the ground other than an aircraft, expire more quickly. This is a compromise to preserve framerates and computing resources. Notice too the limited distance at which smoke will appear, which is again an attempt to conserve computing resources for other demands of the game. The same applies to dust. One can only imagine how the game would grind to a halt if the smoke over Stalingrad were accurately modeled. Perhaps the new engine under development for Oleg's BoB will have a better way to do it.

Perhaps if it is a question of framerates we could havea switch as part of the ini file as wth the clouds

You're saying this will increase lifetime of smoke? If so it's great!

YES YES YES! why do we have dum smoke stacks after plane crash?...would much rather have longer smoke and fires after fuel truck and tanks destroyed...why do I care about where a plane crashed?...it falls...it blows up...good enough. how much cpu wasted on planes burning long after I've left for home?...and it dont look that good. pleas Oleg, move this longer fire smoke effect to ground objects http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif thank you for future updates and add-ons http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif if you do change it...have it time out after two min? and use shorter wider black and grey smoke, just my thoughts on what mite look good\emersive http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
