View Full Version : Flying tanks? Flying submarines?....

Was watching the history channel's show about the Russian airforce in WW2.(May have been a re-run, but new to me) Looks like Oleg could have put a lot more ridiculus planes in 1946 than he did. The Russians made and tested a flying (glider actually) tank, the landing was a little rough though.

Well, the US built, and the UK used, a tank small and light enough to be transported by a glider.

ive watched the programme afew times.The flying submarine was pretty odd (wonder if the game engine could handle it?).It was interesting that Stalin was petrified of flying and seemed to take this fear out on russian aircraft designers.interesting prog, but like so many things on the history channel it could have been a little longer and a bit more detailed
