View Full Version : Is it possible to switch red icons to blue icons?

When I play as the Germans, the planes' map icons are blue. When I play as the Americans, they are red. This sort of thing really throws me off. In most of all games I have played, red always represented the target or the enemy. Is there a way to switch from red to blue and vice versa?

You can go into properties of the object while in full mission builder and change any object to red or blue. Blue is always axis however and red is allied. Just have to get over the whole red is bad, and blue is good idea.

The US Military refers to my country as 'Crimson' when they game. So I am used to it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Nah, Tuphlanding. It's not a big enough of a deal for me to consider asking you to hunt for the reason in the manual. If I have to get used to the idea, then I'll do it. I am sure others have struggled with this but got used to it. I took a 50/50 guess and thought I would ask since you can change a lot of different things in the game. I'm sure there is a complex workaround, but it's not worth the trouble.

The red-blue division in IL2 originates from the IL-2 and IL-2 FB, where the setup was Germany, Finland, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Slovenia vs. the USSR: the latter of course had to be red, and the "bad guys" were blue then.

However in Japan vs. USA match it is indeed rather odd for Japs to be blue and Amis to be red.

I'd myself have Germany either red or gray, Finland blue, Hungary green, Rumania orange/yellow, USSR red, British and USA blue etc etc http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
