View Full Version : Scapa Flow - the myth. (a bad day for the RAF)

A story I must share with the rest of you loonies.

I was on my fifth patrol. 125000 tonnes sunk.
See 100k thread (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/857101043/m/9291097203/p/7)

Entered Scapa Flow from the west. Submerged, of course, since swarms of Swordfish kept bombing me (in vain - this was early 1940) whenever I surfaced.

A lone PT was patrolling the entrance. A lone, burning PT. Ah well, we've seen them before, haven't we?

Doesn't the blackout apply to the Scots?

Guy Fawkes night?

Not quite. Just a few squadrons of downed Swordfish.

Compiled an animated GIF. Only 600kb.

The NW isle was littered with these wrecks. I counted thirty before I gave up. Framerate dropped to ~10 while my boat was in the vicinity. Once I had travelled 20 or so km from Scapa Flow, frame rate went back to a normal 50-60 FPS.
