Ma'am,

Wouldn't dream of it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif But I _still_ kinda missed those "wambulance" pictures when you were nagging about v.4.02 the other day http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

PS. In jest, of course. & glad to hear you got your troubles sorted out...

Perhaps a better question would be, "Are there ever going to be non-hypocritical users?"

Never complained msalama? Ever? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Norris

Me? Nah. Just grin and bear it y'know http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

No, but it _is_ a bit sad that the S/N ratio around here is as bad as it is, because there're many legitimate complaints on these boards too...

After recently reviewing Tagert.'s Roll Rate threads and seeing a chart like this:

I'm putting in a bid to take the wheel of the Wahmbulance for awhile. I've got my whine and cheese already chilling in the fridge. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Real world roll rates compared to game roll rates using real world engine settings?

Doesn't torque affect roll rate?
Isn't torque modelled?
Doesn't engine rpm affect torque?

????

How was that graph achieved?

As we know, there're legitimate complaints and then there're whines. And I'm following Tagert's little investigation with great interest, as undoubtedly are you. But suffices to say that I sincerely hope your whine is of good vintage http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

You've gotta ask Tagert about that. But he at least TRIES to prove something...

True, and respect for that.

However, without wishing to appear at all negative towards those who indulge in dwelling on what they percieve as being 'wrong' with the game, does it really help anyone?

One can see something like that, take it as being a definitive, faultless piece of work, and think either:
(a)Ah... I'm right, it's the plane's fault
or
(b) What's he on about? There's a problem?

depending on one's own particular point of view.

What's the point in that?

To answer the topic, No.
There will always be one...

Many times in the past when Oleg and 1C were presented with these types of facts and research about this game, changes to include them have followed in a patch or new version of the game.

Many things in the current version of this sim came as ideas from the community. Many FM/DM features have been fixed/corrected, objects added, effects altered or enhanced and ESPECIALLY how Oleg tries to protect the integrity of the online aspect of his game by building Host-settable Anti-Cheat settings right into the code....just to name a few. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I had an earlier question about how individual joystick settings would affect the in-game data in the charts as well. I don't take anything at face value, but after reading his methods and what he is trying to show in his charts, he did a d*a*m*n*e*d good job to show that there is an issue with roll rates, as perceived in the game.

I'm almost positive he used the same map and settings that Oleg and 1C test planes as well. I may be wrong (too lazy to look at the moment), but the charts do their purpose in showing that some roll rates are not even CLOSE to their real-life counterparts. This game is supposed to be as close to simulating reality as we can get with current technology, right?

Tagert.'s charts do just that. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Another interesting question:

Are some users EVER going to be capable of throwing off sycophantic, "be glad for what we get" fanboiism in favor of critical thought, basic analysis and reasoned debate?

msalama

...critical thought, basic analysis and reasoned debate?

Gladly, i.e. whenever such conduct is found. Unfortunately, what we usually - or at least very often - get in its place is biased and uninformed b1tching and moaning serving no useful purpose whatsoever http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
