View Full Version : f1-190 cockpit placards

03-15-2006, 07:00 PM
Been learching here for a while, and I am contemplating on building a 109 or 190 cockpit. I have many books on both planes and have all the stenceling for the outside of these planes, but I do not have much of anything for the cockpit writing or "placards" as some sources refer to them.

Does anyone have a list and/or close up pictures of these?

I own a sign shop here in PA/USA, so I can make up the stenciling and metal placards for myself and anyone else who would like them, but I need some referances.

Thanks for any help.

I'm also building a Pit loosely based on 109, 190 and a few others. Here are 2 sites with excellent close-ups of 109 & 190 cockpits.

You can click on the portion of the cockpit you want in detail and it will enlarge it for you.

I am currently finished most of the major components, just tinkering now with gear and flap levers and a few other extras.

I am curious about how you are going to make the placards, I was thinking of using blank decal sheets the modellers use with my home printer, but I'm not sure how well they work.

Thanks all for these they all provide a little help.

I already have plans so graciously provided by Pierre 2a on checksix forums for the Fw190 he has built.

As with many who build cockpits I plan on modifying it a little bit. I would really like to just build a BF110 cockpit for the dual engine features of that cockpit, but I plan on adding dual engine controls to mine and fudging the authenticity of the 190 (mistle pit perhaps?).

Probably going to order the fw190 cockpit CD/Book as I have bought some of this guys other stuff and it is the origional books and VERY detailed, just have to translate the german.

I will post my progress.

Hey guys,

Check us out if you need schlids, insturmentenbretts, or even a pilots seat. We make all that stuff and it is perfect for a simpit. Canopy frame?? If it goes on an FW-190 we build it.

All the best,

Funny you drop by, I was down there visiting the museum, talked to Bob Velez about the plane, wanted to come back another day but didn't get the chance.

You guys really do nice work!

I really wish I could afford the real things, but for my little project I don't think the wife would .... well thats just it, she cooks and my simpit wont! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Anyhow keep in touch, I wish I could contribute my services to the foundation down there.

Hey Greg!

Come by anytime. There is always grunt work to be done. You get a chance to stick your head into Black 3 to check out the refraction or the cockpit views?

All the best,

Wish I lived close by otherwise you may be putting a part number on me I would be there so much. I live in Pittsburgh, PA.

BTW: Black 3 seems to be comming along quite well. It seems that Ramon is quite handy with all the work he has done on the engine.

Did he the prop shaft mounted on Black 3's engine when you visited?

Ramon is a God among machinist. Bob can practically do origami with aluminum!

The crew is very talented.

Hope you make it back it to see us!

All the best,

I have been talking to one of the foundation via Email, I was involved in the ground running of a genuine FW190 and also believe it or not a ME410 Hornise in my distant past http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I dont recognise the revi 16B in the 109 K4 depicted in the link, with the one in the cockpit used in the game.
Where there many versions of sights in the "kurfurst"?

Updated my website today, check out the sim stuff forsale, and see the placards I made.

Also added info on my cockpit that I am planing on building.

Just to bump this message, wanted everyone to know what I have been making.

These are the decals for Blacksheep Squadron's cockpit

The last are my Fw-190 external stencils.
