The days until Silent Hunter III is released tick down. To get you convoy hunters in shape, we're going to have a little practice, some training in the fine art of hunting--scavenger hunting, to be exact! Ubisoft is sponsoring the

Subsim Review SH3 Scavenger Hunt

Ubisoft will supply some exclusive SH3 gear you can't get anywhere else. I'm sure you will recognize some of the prizes. In addition, sharp Silent Hunter captains will receive secret Enigma messages straight from the dev team, revealing new screenshots, new game details, and more! That Rocks!

That is one of those well-planed marketing strategies?!
But yes, it sounds, if not interesting, fun.

Now, recognize some of the prizes? Hhummmm. May I RECOGNIZE the RECOGNITION manual?
But there should be other things, I wonder what they would be...
Books?
WWII-der kaleus hat?
an operating depth charge? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif (this one for if someone believes you've been playing too much and wants to retrieve you...)

Looks like DevTeam is gonna throw some private jokes via radio, in such way that will make sense for the casual gamer but that may get us ROLF.

I suppose the strategy is:
if information/screenshots/demo-availability is limited, then it will make us want the game even more. We will all be teased to fever-pitch by the time the game is released!

Metaphorically speaking, if you want to tease and excite your girlfriend, and you had at your disposal a sledge hammer and a feather, you would use the feather in preference to the sledge hammer (wouldn't you?) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

More details Tues~Weds; contest will start ~Friday

That's the plan

Oh, and let me assure you, this is not going to be just any ol' contest--you know my evil mind. This is going to be a voyage across time and space, with the dev team at your side, investigating Silent Hunter from beginning to end....

As soon as Ubisoft sends me some images of the prizes, the hunt is on!

So, the dev team have enough time on their hands to be taking part in pre-release competitions?
