Hi all,

Just been going through my photos, as you do, and came across these shots I took at an Old Warden airshow during the summer of last year...

Quite a few there http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

That place really has a wonderful atmosphere. it's a small grass strip airfield, which means the planes take off only a few metres from where you're standing. They're all on site as part of the Shuttleworth Collection too, so you can see them being wheeled out of the hangars, and watch their pre flight checks and the like. Brilliant!

(P.S. the guy in the Chipmunk was chucking bog rolls out of the cockpit, banking round, and slicing it with his wingtips! impressive flying indeed!)

My wife, simply does not understand my hobbies of airfield hunting and IL-2. yet strangely she loves Shuttleworth, and wants to go in a Tiger Moth from Duxford (I think) for her next birthday.

Great photos mate. Will have to get there for a flying day next summer.

Thanks.

Very good photos. I was at Duxford last year and caught nearly nothing in the air. Even with the 200mm zoom they were mainly too far away.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Love the last Hind shot! I used to have a video on my computer of the Shuttleworth Hind being started up by the old starters and taking out, flying around. It was a great video http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

You can have no idea just how hostile aircraft can be until they come to your area...
Aircraft which strafe or bomb your positions should be regarded with suspicion, if not deep mistrust. Aircraft which bomb and strafe your position and wear a red circle should certainly be regarded with deep mistrust. In fact, the deeper the better. A six-foot-deep slit trench is an ideal place from which to mistrust them...

"What we need to take control,we could use the Rat Patrol. What's that coming over the dune?...
Chasing the halftracks across the sandflats, got a nice pine box,for that desert fox, machine guns blaring, and Arabs staring wondering why,the Westerners are there. It's the same old story, and it'll happen again."

Thanks for the compliments! The camera is a Nikon digital SLR. Bulky, but the only way to get decent flyign shots. It's my dad's, i'd never be able to afford my own!

I'd recommend it to anyone able to get there. Old Warden has a truly unique collection of rare and historic aircraft, and to see them fly is amazing.
