Question from a Stand-Alone PFer here:

How's the Glad? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif One of my favourite planes of the war, I was wondering how it turns, climbs, favourable speeds, etc. how FUN is it to fly?

No techinal stuff please http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

its a hell of a fun plane !!!!

and the J8A cockpit is a dream ! best made pittextures in game.

fighting vs Italian Cr42 is, well, one of the best things to get out of a PF merged http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Personally I love the Gladiator.

It's very manuverable and fairly easy to handle. The only downside is the upper wing cutting straight through your forward view just above the gunsight. I find I often have to guess what track my target is flying since the upper wing blocks your view just as you're bringing your sights to bear on it.

What about the Cr.42?

its faster than the Gladiator , not so much manouverable (but still a lot http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif ).
the front view is even worser than the Glad.

you have to fly B&Z vs the Glads in a Falco http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

and , it burns very fast if you shoot at it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
AND, it has bombs http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Our squad regularly pits the Glad, against the I-153,includes others such as the early Hurri, and the Falco. As above the Glad's pit is a real treat best in game IMHO.

I did a finnish campaign in the thing!
It was fun for dogfights against I-16s and I-153s...Until you realize that everything, and i do mean everything, can out distance you.
So i'd be like "YES!!! BOMBERS!!!...someone's getting a nice fat pay raise after this mission"
Only to see them shrink to little dots, then dissapear into the horizon http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Gah! I would have paid my $100 for FB+AEP just for half an hour looking at the J8A cockpit. That is the most beautiful bit of texturing I've seen in years. Don't take it out in a storm, though http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif .

Not subliminally suggesting anything at all, HotelBushranger *buy buy buy buy buy buy buy...erm sorry, Ubi's been spamming my subconscious again*

But seriously, mate, what's holding you back? I'm a student on $150 Australian a week, and it only took me a few months to get the cash together for the gold pack ^_^

Now if I can just sell my soul to someone for a legal copy of Photoshop, then I'd be able to sit in the Queen Street Mall with a sign...'Will skin WWII-sim aircraft for food'.

Classic!!

I've heard you can prevent that by wearing a conical hat made of tin foil.

I tried it but my neighbours started giving me wierd looks!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

It doesn't work...

Tinfoil only stops the Major League Baseball satellites from spying on you through your PDA.

I swear its the wireless card! Every time I hook into Hyperlobby, Ubi is zapping advertisements for BoB directly into my cortex. And guess what - we'll have the Lancaster as flyable! Or at least that's what the box will say, whether Maddox games tells them it is or not...

Sorry guys, I've GOT to stop drinking so many cups of coffee after 9pm.

Whats the I-153?

Is that the odd fat little Russian bi-plane, of modern type construction?

Indianer.

attack TB-3 bombers from below! hell of fun to climb to them and always trying to stay below them - otherwise the guners kills you fast http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

flying WinterWarMissions on the Winter Finnland map !

I had a great time flying it in The Blue. I just had an unfortunate habit of coming home without my undercarriage.
