1.What do you do when you start taking on water?

2.If an enemy ship rams you and destroys its self as the result does it count as your kill

3.whats the best way to sneak up on a convy undetected?

4. Why do my torpedos sometime get right up to their target and look like they were repeled by some kind of megnetic force?

You need to post threads like this in the Community Help section.

1) If you are taking on water, make sure you are not running silent, and assign your repair department to repair the damage.

2) I think so, as long as you have inflicted damage on it already.

3) Be submerged, run silent, and do not go faster than 2 knots.

4) I believe you may be closer than 300meters. Try not to launch fish any closer than 350meters, because they need at least 300meters to arm.

2) I am not sure if you get credit for being rammed and sinking your "rammer". It sounds like the same thing that happens when you try to ram a ship. She might go down, but you don't get credit for it.

4) If you have dud torpedos selected and it is early in the war, you will have a lot of torps that just bounce off the hull. Also, make sure you have as close to a 90 degree angle on the ship. Also, early in the war, make sure you switch your torpedo pistols to impact and not magnetic.

if you havent found what you were looking for already, assign crew to damage control, and in that same window click on compartments taking on water. pumping is priorized so it should be done first. if your crew does not, take your boat of silent running, that disables repair, reload, and pumping.

Basically, the entire purpose of this game is sneaking up on a convoy. Here are some things you may want to consider:

1. Early in the war I've found many convoys were not escorted, and the merchants were not armed. You can pretty well charge in and have a field day. Use your lookouts, periscope and your targeting plot to check for escorts (they show as red bearing lines on the plot).

2. Later in the war, once escorts show up you can try to sneak and peak, get in between the escorts and the merchants (especially if all of the escorts are at the convoy's front). Later in the war the classic U-boat tactic was to figure out the convoy's course and then run up ahead and get into position. My best results with this tactic is to go deep, cut my engines and let the escorts "run over me". If they are not actively pinging with their sonar they don't know you are there. After they pass over, come up to periscope depth (slowly) and line yourself up.
