La-7's are the only birds that consistantly put up a halfway decent fight for me. Yak's and Mustangs are target drones.

I got to say the P-39 is scary too, you can hear them coming and shortly after you can hear that deadly gun shooting at you. That would be my personnal choice.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Yak for me. Although it is slow and thus less dangerous, it is also very small and easy to lose sight of.

Without a doubt Me-262. It's banned everywhere and I can understand why http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Otherwise La7 and K4 are very good candidates.

Hi Leadspitter_,

I was wondering if you saw the rather large thread in ORR about the "yak".

It would be of great interest if you could contribute a track file showing what you mean.

Here's some that came up in the thread:

http://home.iprimus.com.au/djgwen/fb/yakdurability.zip

http://home.iprimus.com.au/djgwen/fb/d9vsyak.zip

http://home.iprimus.com/au/djgwen/fb/test2.zip

For some reason it proved impossible to find a trackfile of the Yak demonstrating its apparently infamous indestructibility.

I would be so glad if you could help.

Hmmmm,I dunno. I guess it really depends on the situation. I'd say in the early war the Stuka would be a scary sight. Or should I say sound? People on the ground were often terrified when they heard the wail of it's sirens as she dived down on them. That's the whole point of the sirens anyway. They were a sort of psychological weapon. I know it'd unnerve me to say the least.....

Against a good pilot I "fear" them all.

With a good pilot in the 'pit, any of those five listed are to be reckoned with.....

"As weaponry, both were good, but in far different ways from each other. In a nutshell, I describe it this way: if the FW 190 was a sabre, the 109 was a florett, or foil, like that used in the precision art of fencing." - Gunther Rall

Gotta be the P-11 with those huge bombs. That thing terrifies me just watching it taxi out!

Hmmm, close since I fly 109's all the time ; multiple La pilots, lurking 190's, but since i consider the 109 a thinking mans plane, with multiple bogies i fear the same thing i look forward to using; those MK108's in a good pilots hands are quick death.

Another vote for the Ki-84 here. It's just absolutely hands-down the best plane in FB right now in any meaningful realm of performance. Someone needs to make a skin for that plane that has 'anything you can do I can do better' written down the sides :>

hmmm I reckon it would be a FW 190... diving down with all those guns... Either that... or the Me-262 raw speed and firepower.... awesome hehe. M personal choice would be 262 but cause its like globally banned its probably FW 190s.
I don't like La-7's.... they seem wrong.. I dunno just like ppl think that the first jet aircraft to see WW 2 service shouldn't be in a WW 2 simulator.

I agree with MD, as a devoted 190 driver my only real concern is the La. I really have to make a mistake against the others or start with a severe disadvantage.

I agree the Ki-84 is right there as well but I don't fly on servers where Axis can fight Axis, etc.

Being a 190 jock myself, I really don't like coming up against another 190, especially flown by a good pilot. But as far as "enemy" A/C go, Ki-84's can be a handful - just keep up the speed and stay above them. Once they get in the sights, they tend to disappear quickly...

would have to be the bf-109 k for me. only thing that can take down my beautiful p-51. if i dont get him on one pass, the bf-109 uses its godlike climbing to catch me even when i have large e advantage.
