Going up against a B29, my spitfire lost rudder and aileron control, leaving me just the use of the elevator...

My hand reached for the eject button, but then I had this second thought...

Torgue...

By reducing or advancing the throttle, I was able to steer towards my airfield, line up and make a crash landing on the tarmac...

This sim is remarkable http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Agreed, the sim is a remarkable one. That reminds me of a ground attack mission I was flying a while back in an IL2. My elevator and rudder controls were shot out but I was able to find my way to a suitable patch of land using side-slips to turn. With an artful manipulation of the throttle and flaps I was actually able to set my bird down for an excellent landing and survived to fight another day.
