Maybe some of you have noticed our work in progress before... but now I can say it out loud and I think it deserves a special thread... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I am pleased to announce that our new 130+ ground objects have been implemented into the game engine and our Slovak and Bessarabia map teams are currently placing them on their maps!

As you all know, Oleg's team is fully dedicated to BoB now, so we tried to make the new object import as easy for them as possible = no bugs + much of the implementation was done by Mr. Saqson. Hopefully, we have "wasted" only few hours of Oleg's time to implement them all. I wanted to make this clear to avoid any potential flame wars. Ground objects (if done correctly) require very little programming from Maddox Games and can not be compared to an inclusion even of a single new airplane.

Most of the new objects are intended for our Slovak map, however, I believe many generic objects can be used for Bessarabia as well. In addition, we have tried to include some other interesting objects that mission builders may enjoy, especially the new human "objects", anti-tank obstacles (Normandy beaches getting a new touch?), etc.

As for release date, we should be done with our maps in 1-1.5 months (depends on real life issues). Then it's up to Oleg (add 2 weeks). http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

------------------------------------------

Model/texture credits: Tero Tissari, Martin Kubani, Peter Brtko (Feroz), Ray Grützmacher (Caspar), Peter Schaller (Foobar), Robert Ulbrik (Robo), Robert Tenk (Rik), Matej Hradsky, Filippo Tarquini (Pippz), Jesters-Ink, Viktor Szalai (Jutocsa)... I hope I have mentioned all people involved...

I would also like to thank all the guys who supplied us with countless references. Much of our time was saved thanks to good quality photos that served as the base for most of the textures. Anyway, if you see any of Letka 13 (Letka_13/******) guys on HyperLobby and get one of them into your gun sight, give them a break. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif)

AND a very special thank you goes to Vladimir Kochmarsky (Saqson) for supervision/PATIENCE/help and final import into the game engine. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Estimated time required to finish all objects: ~ 1000 hours

Very nicely done! Waiting for your map quite a while. Anyways, i was hoping for some static objects, so one can make bombing runs to destroy some buildings. But very nice!

I'll just echo what everyone has said and say this is excellent work.

I will be using many of these objects in my next campaign, as soon as they are released.

You don't understand Ramstein

You said thank you for the things you bought from RRG Studios and 1C:Maddox games- NOT this. Your past purchases do not thank them for this content that is not released. In fact, you just called all this hard work "dollhouses", which in case you don't know it, is a very calculated insult to the people who made this stuff for free.

This is not content you are going to the store to pay for, and you won't be paying for it online. Don't give me the standard "I thanked them with my money" response until you have actually paid people like MatoKKK. Once you send him some cake, then tell me you thanked him with money. You never did that, though, so the argument is 100% bogus.

Your comment to me to stop being a control freak is akin to my being told to mind my own business when I see a grown man kick a person for no reason other than the kicker feels mad and he "deserves" to kick somebody

These folks are going well out of their way to make stuff that they thought might add enjoyment to the sim, and it makes me angry that people put them down for it. Try making some type of tangible contribution to the community sometime, go spend 1000 hours of your precious free time to give the community something for no recompense, and then see how you like it when somebody puts you down for your efforts. I've done some things here for nothing, and it's not anything like the scope of these efforts made for these maps and objects. Should you be entitled to tell me my work is nonsense because you "thanked me with the money you spent on purchase of the games"? Do you think that's reasonable? No you don't! But that's what you're in effect telling these other people. Do you understand that?

Nobody is entitled to put down this work and back up their words with "Well I thank them with money". No, no you didn't. This content isn't released yet firstly, so it's impossible to have thanked them with a purchase you haven't made, and you aren't paying for it in the first place.

Just because these folks work on the sim doesn't mean they are getting paid or that this content is coming with a price tag. Calling this work "dollhouses" is pure unadulterated BS and you should be ashamed, a grown man isn't supposed to act that way

So is that new biplane we saw in an earlier post with the Slovakian markings going to be included in the final Patch?

Thank You to everyone involved in creating IL-2.

I only have IL-2 1946 for 3 months and i am loving every second i play this game. It beats everything else out there.

Once again a big Thank You to everyone who helped make this game the best flight simulation ever.

Its a shame this game's life i coming to an end.
At least its going to be replaced by something better. I can't wait till SOW:BOB comes out.

Better graphics, better game play and realism is going to be better. But i will still miss the 230 flyable planes.

You know just when there is something to get excited about always some schmuck has to spoil it. I have already seen this work posted elsewhere where NOBODY said a bad thing, everyone was happy to see it, unlike the six year old who kicks over the sandcastle just because... and all this in the home forum of the "Holy Grail of Flight Sims". I think it's Great work, Chris I look forward to what Campaign your gonna build next with the billion or so objects your gonna place (oy http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif more ram please), I love new planes, Cool weapons an all, but I'm happy for what gets done for free. Beautifully done. Bravo!

I would love to see a simple submarine pen bay, which could be "stacked" to make various pens. I think no current map offers the historic locations, so their absence is understandable. Still, they were so imposing-a wonderful sight from the air.
