Ok, that was a lie... lol..

Just want to tell you all that my first book has just published. It's about photography and will hit the stores, God willing, within next week or two http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Unfortunately - for you guys - it's in Indonesian. lol... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Congrats! I hope it sells well for you. Pretty cool to see your name on the shelves I imagine. I was told by a professional from Philadelphia (who was teaching a course at my college) that I have an eye for photography, and I enjoy it alot, I just wasn't confident enough that I could develop a career in it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif. Anyway, best of luck and congratulations.

@ Hunde, they told me that the first step is the hardest http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

@ woofie, I've thought about that too. I have to consult my publisher first though...

Anyway, thanks guys http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Great news m8! I hope you'll have a long and successful career!

I've written a couple of novels myself, but never managed to publish them. Who likes WWII and Sci-Fi stories today anyway?

Spec Fic is the 3rd highest grossing field after Romance (bleh!) and Biography.

Mind you, Spec Fic cover Fantasy and Horror as well as Science Fiction.

I've been making my bread and butter selling SF stories to Aussie and overseas magazines, so I think there's a market for it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif So you never know if you're publishable until you send them out, and even though even a top author expects a 70% rejection rate, a good editor will give you a handy critique.

Got a couple of novels in the works, too, but that all depends on how much time I get outside work.

Very sweet!

I've got a few plays in the works, but that's nothing compared to something that's actually published! Great job!

Well done mate. I used to live in Jakarta Selatan, in an area called Kemang, and 15 years ago I'd've been able to read your book. Unfortunately, I've forgotten virtually all of my bahasa. Hope it sells well.

Hehee... thanks all.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I started collecting my articles that Ive made over the years and prepared them as a book after my small business went bankrupt last year. Then I think I was lucky.

It was because I've prepared myself for being rejected by the publishers. I also made several hard copies of the script. But the first publisher that I offered my work is the one which contacted me several weeks later.

Needless to say that I was so excited. What a first step http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

@ Plughman, I live in Southern Jakarta too. Kemang is only 30 minutes from here. Too bad I'm 15 years too late.. lol

Well done!

I'm a photography enthusiast, too, and have often thought about getting something published. You've gone ahead and done it - right on, man!

Dave.
